So, time to rate the Dimarzio 36th Anniversary Pickup for the Bridge.
Installing the pickups is, due to the manual book or instruction really easy and should be no problem for everyone being able to solder.
I installed them in a Gibson Les Paul Standard from 1995 and the Pickups really sound great. Way better than the original ones. I had lots of pickups over the time including "boutique" pickups from Germany or USA which all are nice sounding, but the 36th Anniversaries do not need to hide.
They added nice transparency and a very broad ranged, clear sound to the Les Paul.
All in all: Looking for Pickups to upgrade your guitar? The 36th are a real good choice when it comes to vintage sound with lower output PAFs.
This DiMarzio PAF is supposed to sound like a vintage humbucker. It is based on Larry DiMarzio's 1959 Gibson Les Paul pickups.
It's a vintage output pickup, don't expect it to sound like a Super Distortion. Even though it's a little brighter than a conventional HB it doesn't sound like a single coil at all. It keeps its HB character but reacts more sensitively to the guitar player touch on the strings.
It features Alnico 5 and 4 conductor wire and sounds pretty cool even when split.
I personally use it on a HSH Super-Strat in bridge position, but I guess it would sound great on a Les Paul style guitar as well.
