Well been using DiMarzios since 1996 and had all the greatest like Paf Pro,Tone Zone, Evolution,HS-3 and any others and always satisfied. Decided to get these Air Classics after many years because I wanted a more dynamic and expresive tone.
I got a PRS SE Tremonti where the original pickups were too strong and muddy for my taste. I play blues and jazz and some rock in our band so I needed less output pickups with crystal clear definition. I ordered a pair of F-spaced DP 191 as the price was fantastic and could not be more satisfied!
Pros: This pickups are great in therms of dynamic anc clarity. The one I put on the neck gave the guitar a new more acticulated and musical tone. The bridge one the bite and clarity my guitar never had before. So I do recommend to try these pickups and you will see how great your guitar will sound again.
Do not be afraid of having the very same pickup at the bridge and neck as since the 90?s many guitar players had done this before like Steve Vai having Paf Pro?s on neck and bridge and the same for Paul Gilbert with Super Distortions. No need to set the neck pickup lower they just fitted like a dream for the first time.
You can connect the pickups parallel for a fuller humbucker tone or in series for more single coil kind of a sound but I did the classic parallel one and no push pull thing all straight for a full sound.
Prepare for some soldering but do not worry as is not rocket cience.
Overall as good as it is and if you plan to give your guitar a more mature and professional sound just go for the Air Classics!

I put this in the bridge of my 89 RG570. It sounds amazing . This is a low output pickup but it produces a massive sound due to Airbucker technology that DiMarzio uses to increase sustain and touch sensitivity . It does just that . It is very responsive with lots of sustain , the notes sing and sound huge , very smooth . Shawn Lane used these in his Vigier and some Ibanez he had and I can see why . A higher output pickup is what most people go for if they are into Lane , Holdsworth or Vai , but this PAF can cover it better in my opinion , it seems to respond to the nuances of you're playing better than some high output models I have used that can sound muddy and too hot , which can cover up the sound of the guitar . If you are into Shred , Jazz , Blues , Holdsworth legato Van Halen, this pickup paired with the same one for the neck will cover it all . It splits extremely well in 2 and 4 positions .

Caractéristique :

Nous sommes en présence d'un micro double bobinage (humbucker) de chez dimarzio made in U.S.A de très bonne facture. Ce micros précis se place en position chevalet. Je l'ai fait monté sur ma stratocaster de luthier. Le micros peut être splitté via un bouton push pull. Les sonorités sont assez intéressantes, le niveau de sortie raisonnable permet de l'associer a des micros simples sans problème ( niveau puissance des micros ) mais le grain reste quand même celui d'un humbucker. Ce micros se rapproche d’ailleurs d'un PAF Gibson mais avec plus de flexibilité sonore : on peut passer du rockabilly en clean aux gros sons saturés grâce a sa tolérance.
