Fun project, sounds very usable

I needed a cajon for a few acoustic gigs with a couple of artists here and there, and had always wanted to have a go at building a usable instrument, so this kit was perfect!

It's super good value for money, took me only an afternoon to put together and sounds perfectly usable on any acoustic gig :) Some of the wooden panels were oversized by maybe 0.5cm or so, and the joins are not as professional as on a factory built one (for obvious reasons), but with a little sanding it looks and feels pretty good! Aesthetically, it isn't obvious at all that it is "home"-made and is not going to harm your reputation... as long as you can play it!

Pros:
- cheap
- looks simple and plain (how I prefer it!)
- fun project, not particularly difficult

Cons:
- not as professionally built as a premade cajon (maybe won't last as long)
- takes time to build, sand, finish etc.

REALLY GOOD

The cajon sound it self is very good for the price. The strings are good in quality and sound, the wood it self is also very good.
It is easy to assemble, the instructions are clear but it can be confusing at the beginning because they are black and white with no text, just pictures.

After all, this is very good cajon for really low price. Do recommend.
