Sets of 9s for an acoustic aren't the most common - most of the time, the choice is these or Rotosound JK9. Of the two, I prefer the Rotosound strings, but that's not to say these are bad, just that I prefer the sound of the phosphor bronze JK9s to the very bright (and somewhat thin) bronze sound of these D'Addario strings. However, if light, bright, bronze strings are what you're after (they're great for going easy on the fingers of a beginner acoustic player), then these budget strings should do the trick.
I've never liked the strings that come with the guitar, no matter the make, so I always changed them. A while ago I discovered the D'Addario bronze strings and they make a huge difference. The guitar sounds richer and even a bit louder, the strings also feel a bit more comfortable on the fretting hand. I recommend D'Addario bronze to anyone who plays an acoustic guitar.
