I have recently received a Cordoba Giulele CE and am so far very pleased The instrument is nicely finished and with good intonation.
Here are a few observations -
the action could be slightly lower for my taste, though it is not a problem and I won't be bothering to do anything about it the sound is (obviously) not as full as that from a guitar, though it is pleasantly more rounded than a typical ukulele sound .... the 'plugged in' sound is lovely - very mellow it would have been useful to have a strap button (I am using a neck loop) a built-in tuner would be nice, though not necessary. the finger-board is slightly narrower and the frets closer than I am used to (understandably) but it'll be no real problem with a little practice and familiarity
These comments are 'nit-picking'. There is nothing to really criticise and much to like about this instrument. It has obviously been built with care and skill, and if you accept the sound as neither that of a guitar nor a uke, but as a timbre in its own right, then it is an attractive little instrument. It will make an excellent travel guitar and a useful addition to the musical arsenal.
Great Cordoba mini guitar, ideal for long travelling, even prepared to live performance because of it's pickup integrated in the body of the Guitarlele. Warm sounds and confortable playing with the nylon soft strings.
It has an alternative tuning in A that brings lots of possibilities of trying another air chords but with the same finger positions than in a normal E tuned guitar.
Only trouble is that you must have not very big hands to play it if you want to try upper chord positions, cause there's few space for the fingers.
In general, for me, superb purchase if you travel frecuently, perfect portability and great pickup sound.
