Works as expected in pair with CME WIDI-X8. No drivers required. Works nice with Windows and Linux (I'm using this with/in Debian on Raspberry Pi hardware - nicely). Controllable with SysEx (not much but you can do reconnect/scan change channel - nice).
---- (!) Seems to add some little lag(latency) still in simple setup that not an issue and system is nicely usable BUT causes problems when using with "midi active sensing" sending-device. Actually I didn't find way to use this 'wireless system' with Yamaha digital piano because piano is sending 'active sensing' data and seems that so midi stream got (overflowed) corrupt.
Device could be a little narrower in size so that it does not block adjacent USB port (but it's actually no big problem).
---- (!!!) don't expect updates/support/anything from manufacturer...
This dongle proved to be a good solution for getting the midi from a wireless keytar to my laptop. I use a Roland AX7 to connect to my macbook, or even a PC laptop. The driver installation was easy and the latest drivers could be found on CME:s website. The range is good, but not endless. I found the weak link to be the CME transmitters, and only when the battery power was going low. I never had any problems with getting the MIDI to sync; just choose channel and there you go. Only thing is the cme transmitters are hanging around when playing wirelessly, but it was solved by duck taping it to the shoulder strap of the synth.
