Of course this keytar is not the only keyboard a typical cover band keyboarder is using at a gig. I bought it to have to possibility to play special songs or riffs wireless, so i can be in the spotlight to for some short moments :) (Something what very many keyboard players want to, but nobody lets them). I'm using it with my korg kronos 61 at they work togehter in perfect harmony. you only have to plug in the wireless midi usb stick into the usb port of the kronos and everything works. Of course editing the configuration of the different controlllers of the keyboard takes a little bit, but now i can rock the stage wireless and I don't recognize any latency. The feature with the gyro sensor (holding up the keyboard changes for example the vibrato) is working to, but for pitch effects over a huge amplitude it dosen't work exactly enough. Batter life is ok to (you also can turn on and off the keyboard really fast so you don't have to be afraid it turns of while playing); The keyboard is also not really heavy so one can jump around with it without any problems. Only some few points aren't that good: - the pads need to be play very hard (I configured them to a fixed midi value) - the keys themself aren't the best (but i didn't expect that much for such a price); they work for the most things and if I need better ones, I play it with the kronos - I had to send it back and order a new because the were problems with the octav shifting, but thomann made no problems with the replacment.
Over all it is a very nice, not expensive funny live gadget for keyboarders who want to get out of there keybaord "walls" :). (and you have a addtional keyboard for complex settings with very many sounds of course).
Really good looking, well designed keytar. Many smart functions as sustain and accelerometer makes this a joy to play. The action pads are great for triggering loops and even tapping tempo for certain effects in the computer. (requires some messing around in the laptop). The included wireless dongle works well, and the sounds from the Alesis program sound fat and well balanced. The case is smart, with room for cables and assecories. It's convinient and goes great as a carry-on when flying. I could recommend this to anyone, coming from an Roland AX7, which is heavier, uglier and very outdated in comparision.
