I mostly use a Marshall acoustic 100 acoustic combo amp (its heavy, but best I ever tried). Sometimes friends turn up at my gigs, so got this Alesis 4 usb to help me with extra inputs and the USB for recording all my gigs to MP3.
The Alesis really does the business in every way "+" it has a guitar button on channel one which really brings out my guitar exactly how I want to hear it (just as good as the Marshall inputs).
Every knob & button do their job the way I want them to.
I'm not an effects geek, never needed, so no problems here (no effects).
14/09/2015 - update. I went solo, upgraded from Marshall AS100D to EON 515 active speaker, still using the Alesis multimix 4 USB, sound is powerful and clean, size is great. Have tried similar mixers with more headroom before distortion & much more EQ gain. Well, I never need more than 1/4 turn on EQ, plus good knowledge of channel gain & channel/main volume settings, this mixer works fine for me + USB for the recording, there is nothing simpler, smaller or better for the job.
I have had this product in biweekly use for over a year now and it still functions like fresh out of the box. Everything It says it can do it does. Obviously it isn't loaded with features but that isn't what you should be buying this for. This is brilliant for connecting to my computer for recording!
