I'm going for my third guitar with an ABM roller nut.
These aren't easy to install, in fact no roller nut is something you could just glue and forget.
You need to file the fretboard down 2.4mm in order to keep the right intonation because the strings lie on top of each roller as opposed to a nut in which the string break is at the border. You should also be very careful of the height, the strings should lay between 0.2 to 0.4mm in order to have the best results.
The strings will definitely NOT spring out of the rollers on a heavy bend if you install it correctly. There is absolutely no problem on guitars with a headstock at an angle (LP, RedSpecial, Gretsch) but you will have a problem with fender style headstocks if you don't use string trees as the angle on these is not steep enough to keep the strings in place.
You should NOT lubricate the roller tops, in any case only the internal shaft.
I would recommend this nut 100%, it really helps with all kind of guitars if you want to make them keep intonation better after bending or tremolo usage coupled with a roller bridge on LP/Gretsch type guitars with tremolo.
