Damn good bit of kit

I like this better than the original FR. Gotoh makes the Edge trems for Ibanez and they've used lessons learned with the Edge and FR. This is like an FR and Edge and a Gotoh 510 had a baby. All the main parts are good hard steel apart from the brass block. The saddles are nicely contoured. The string locking blocks slide back into a cavity so they don't fall out when you're changing strings. The fine tuners are angled away from your picking hand and have a long range and coarse checkering for good grip. The block has countersunk holes next to the main three springs so they can be locked in place with provided screws. The springs provided are nice and stiff as well. I'm set up with .009-.042 in E standard and I've got two springs on for nice chirps and flutters. The studs have larger bushings so you need to ream out your holes to 11mm wide and a bit deeper. The studs have set screws down the centre to lock them into place once you get your action set. The arm and socket are taken from the 510. It has a sleeve with a set screw for tightening the sleeve. But the end of the arm has a threaded hole so that it also screws in like a strat arm. Absolutely no slop in the arm at all. This is probably the best designed double locking tremolo you can get and it's also the cheapest. All of my double locking guitars will be getting Gotoh. These are really the best.
