Very good if you want a fatter and hum free bridge sound from your P90 guitar

I bought this to replace the bridge P90 in my Gibson SG Classic because I was sick of the hum and wanted a fatter sound with more output. This pickup does exactly what I wanted. It doesn?t sound similar to the stock bridge P90 at all. It sounds fatter, louder and crunchier. Of course the hum is gone and it performs excellently under high gain.

I was a bit afraid that it wouldn?t match well with the neck P90, which I left stock, but to my surprise both pickups mix excellently, because they both have a raw and fat quality.

The quality of this part is excellent and it sounds great. Just like you would expect from Dimarzio. The price is also good.

I bought this to replace a P90 on my Reverend Sensei and I have to say I'm not convinced it's the improvement I was looking for yet.

Initially, the sound was really poor, with literally no power and generally sounding very anaemic. I played around with raising the pole pieces and things did improve greatly to the point where I was much happier. Suddenly it had power and a real bite. However, I'm still having problems with balancing the sound across strings with some string volumes really overpowering others. I think I can sort this by more fiddling with the height of the pole pieces but I've not had a chance to do this yet.

If I can get the volume balanced across strings I'd be inclined to give this 4 stars but with the caveat that IMO it really only does one sound, high gain rock/metal. If you're after something with more nuance or vintage tones I'd look elsewhere.

Amazing bridge pickup and works a treat in the P90 size. I cant compare this to the humbucker sized Super Distortion, but all I can say is that its great for rock music and beautifully chuggy for palm muting.

Put some fire in to your P90 guitar!!

used in Gibson LP Studio Tribute 60 with their own soupbars.
that one soupbar near the bridge didnt give me enouch feedback with Marshall plexi for example. this Di Marzio handle with it.
is in the same size, no problem to replace.
lot of drive with no ext effects.
