People say this thing is just "too crazy" for them. And I strongly disagree. Yes, at first, it seems like you plug your guitar into some weirdo's wet dream, but if you spend some time with this pedal, you will learn how to use it properly without being constantly "frustrated". And it's a HELL of fun! :)
some sounds you CAN easily achieve by following many threads on the internet:
1.) classic use:
- classic fuzz sounds (Hendrix)
- doom fuzz (full distortion)
- velcro/gated fuzz
- rich open fuzz
- high octave fuzz
- feedback fuzz
- Muse (Plug In Baby, Psycho, Supermassive Black Hole, New Born, Madness, Knights of Cydonia, Uprising, basically most of their songs)
- Jack White (but not a big muff era), The Raconteurs
- clean/overdrive fuzz (rolling down a volume pot on your guitar will result in some lovely clean-like overdrive)
2.) experimental sounds (you will need to add some modulation or time effects and play with all of FF knobs to achieve this):
- radio waves (+phaser/flanger)
- whale songs (just put a delay and tons of reverb after FF and thank me later)
- dolphins
- chirping birds (be careful if you have parrots, srsly!)
- crying baby (+WAH or auto-wah)
- a pulsar-like (with tremolo)
3.) everything in between 1. and 2.
- just PLAY with this pedal! :)
4.) this is NOT a big muff!
Thanks to ZVex for the invention of this amazing pedal and the neverending hours of fun! :)
