Soundcraft Notepad-12FX

Using it since 6 months as my main mixer / audio card for analog recording and working with Reaper. Preamps are clean, I would say better than what you reasonably could expect for an unit of this price range. Has pretty much the basics you can need (phantom power / low pass / hiz) on analog sources. Audio output is routed post gain - pre fader, so only the gain will affect recorded signal, all the other faders does not affect the signal that is routed to your workstation. Provided software is easy and stable, you can change buffer / switch inputs on the fly and your DAW will read the new configuration on-the-fly. The only limit is that you can record only 2 tracks (2 mono or a single stereo) simultaneously. You can't record 4 tracks at the same time. Having some cracks with very low latency setting (32 samples buffer) but latency is less than 10ms and it does not affect the recorded signal, only what you are hearing. Using more relaxed settings (256 or above) while mixing works like a charm. Using it mainly as an audio card, but it can comes handy also for live situations. Nice the ability to have 3 separate outputs (effects out can switch to an additional phones out) with 3 separate controls (main mix, phones level and aux level).
