Having recently bought the Soulo cup mute , which I love, I thought I would get the straight mute. This is an excellent mute which gives a great sound. It is very easy blowing and does not alter your intonation. I like the "corks", which I assume will last longer than natural cork, they give a good grip. A bit pricey but it is quality but well worth it.

I don't really like giving things a full set of 5 stars - it implies there isn't anything that can be improved about that item... In this case, I just can't find any fault to pick - the build quality is superb, the intonation is spot on (and as a result, the response is as good as it gets for a mute) and the sound is excellent also, a lively metallic muted sound that no metal straight mute I've played can top (and I've played most available).

The construction is interesting, the base of the mute itself is rounded (the copper part is semi-sheperical) and so there's a little band of metal soldered on to allow the mute to actually stand up.

There isn't much more to say - it's excellent in every instrument I've used it with... if you want the best, then right now this is it.

Ein Dämpfer mit markantem Ton und leichtem Spiel durch alle Register. Sogar tiefe Töne zentrieren gut und das freie Spielgefühl

Auffällige Besonderheit dieses Dämpfers ist, dass er im schlanken Bereich aus Aluminium besteht und dann in eine Kupferkugel mündet. Auf Grund des freien Spielgefühls, muss das wohl technisch ohne Kanten gelungen sein, die sonst zu einem Luftstau führen würden.
Trotz der Kupferkugel ist er im Verhältnis zu anderen Kupferdämpfern relativ leicht, was natürlich auch an der Kombination mit Aluminium liegt.
Er unterstützt die Tonführung des Bläser sehr flexibel und gut.
In allen Lagen bleibt er zentriert mit offenem Spielgefühl.
Es gibt ihn mit dickerem Kork für größere Schallbecher und großem Ton und dünnerem Kork für kleinere Schallbecher. Der Kork sitzt ohne das lästige Anhauchen sehr gut im Schallbecher.
Durch einen kleinen aufgelöteten Kranz kann man ihn auch ganz schnell abstellen, ohne das er kippelnd umzufallen droht.
Alles in Allem ,- ein gelungener Straight Dämpfer der Spaß macht !

Voor sterke passages, in de hoogte zowel als de laagte blijft deze demper perfect doorspelen. Een heel groot en vet geluid. Niet overal even bruikbaar, maar op sommige momenten zeer fijn. Zeker als bij FF passages de stemming uitstekend blijft.

In de laagte is hij ook uitzonderlijk goed. Daar waar bij de lage G en F# veel dempers het af laten weten klinkt deze als een klok.
