As an intermediate learner of the recorder, this RRA 2 is turning out to be an excellent source of material for both soprano and tenor recorders. The pieces are delightfully varied and even though some may be familiar, their refreshing arrangements help to keep the player on his/her toes. The recorded material is a huge help, and the adornments on some of the repeated sections provide an insight into what a virtuoso performer is capable of.

Die vier Hefte, von denen dieses das zweite Heft ist, stellt eine schöne Sammlung und einen guten Querschnitt durch die Renaissance-Literatur dar. Die ersten beiden Hefte sind für Sopran, die letzten beiden für Alt-Blockflöte arrangiert. Das Notenbild ist gut lesbar.
Heft 1 und 3 sind deutlich einfacher, ich würde sie als leicht beschreiben, Heft 2 und 4 haben durch die verlangte hohe Geschwindigkeit zum Teil einen hohen Schwierigkeitsgrad.
Mit den beiliegenden Aufnahmen macht es Spass zu spielen. Leider sind manchmal die Wiederholungen anders, als die Noten das zeigen und zum Teil wird mit gar arg viel Rubato gespielt, was in der Renaissance-Musik eigentlich gar nicht vorkommt und was bei Pausen und komplizierteren Rhythmen das Zusammenspiel unnötig verkompliziert.
