Dry and snappy on a piccolo snare!

Put it on the bottom side of a piccolo snare to hear less rattle from the wires and get a drier sound. It gives me exactly that!

It's worth getting one at least to experiment, especially if you have more than one snare to try it on.

Marching YES - rock NO

Thats at least my opinion. You get a real good attack from this head, so marching is a go! But for the rock part of life there is just not enaugh punch/sustain in it.

Hide your snare drum interior

This is useful when you don't want the 'guts' of your home-made snare drum visable - it can hide a multitude of 'sins'! Did not find the snare response as good as with a standard clear reso, because this is a bit thicker with more texture.

Fantastisches Resonanzfell!

Ich habe mir dieses Fell (in Ergänzung zum Black Suede Ambassador Schlagfell) einfach mal auf Verdacht bestellt, um auf einer weiteren Snare eine klangliche Alternative zur Standardkombination Ambassador white coated/Ambassador Snare Reso zu verwenden. Ein voller Erfolg!

Die Black Suede Ambassadors sind nicht beschichtet, sondern aufgerauht. Von Prinzip her würde ich sagen, es sind Ebony-Felle, die mit einem Rutscher oder feinem Schmirgelpapier ganz leicht aufgeraut wurden. Mein Eindruck ist, dass sie dadurch offenener klingen und crispere Höhen bringen als beschichtete Felle. Sie werden ja auch als Mischung zwischen "clear und coated sound" beworben.

Ich habe ein wesentlich längeres Sustain, feiner aufgelöste Ghost Notes und insgesamt eine bessere Ansprache bei leiser Spielweise erzielen können. Mit Besen klingen sie fantastisch. Das rauhe Resonanzfell trägt deutlich dazu bei. Bei kräftiger Spielweise scheint mir die Projektion dieser Felle besser zu sein als bei beschichteten Fellen.

Ich bin echt begeistert von den Black Suede Ambassadors und jeder Drummer sollte mal eine Trommel damit ausprobieren. Vielleicht bringt Remo das Resonanzfell auch noch in weiß raus, dann wäre es perfekt!
