Ovation Celebrity Tradition CS28P-KOAB

Esteticamente molto bella, il top in koa ha un effetto particolarmente lucido. Dal vivo sembra un tantino più scura (per vedere il colore delle foto bisogna essere vicini a una fonte di luce abbastanza potente). I legni di manico, tastiera e ponte non sono di primissima fascia: ovangkol e nato, ma in tutta onestà mi sono trovato molto bene ugualmente, soprattutto col manico. In realtà il sito Ovation dice che il manico è in mogano, ma spesso anche il nato viene classificato come mogano pur non essendo egualmente pregiato (il dubbio mi rimane...). L'action originale era troppo alta per i miei gusti, ma ho potuto abbassarla rimuovendo uno degli spessori posti sotto la selletta del ponte (facendo attenzione a non danneggiare il piezo). Qualche difettuccio: uno dei due bulloncini che ancorano il ponte al body era molto lento e produceva una fastidiosa vibrazione nelle pennate più forti (è bastato avvitarlo meglio ed il ronzio è sparito), inoltre ho dovuto pulirla un bel pò da alcuni residui scuri (che non ho identificato) su tastiera e alcune parti del binding. Per il resto le rifiniture sono senza sbavature (anche se avrei evitato quel "crefted in China" tra manico e paletta). Meccaniche buone, ma non eccellenti. Il suono è molto gradevole (dopo aver cambiato le corde) e la chitarra mi è sembrata molto risonante (forse il Lyrachord?). Amplificata rende bene ed è molto definita, l'accordatore non è il massimo dell'affidabilità, ma è un difetto di poco conto.

As a casual player I had been planning on getting an Ovation for many years having borrowed my dads time and time again. This little gem that I just added to my collection is much much more than I had expected.

The build quality is incredible, attention to detail outstanding and then there is the sound. This punches a great tone and whilst I had read that the smaller bodied would punch less than the bigger bodied counterparts that is most definitely not to be noticed. All in all this is a super guitar embracing the Ovation legacy in ever respect and for the £360 I paid this feels like a steel. I also went with the branded case for the same which makes for a great fit.

One area I am still working on is the bigger body compared to the electric Ibanez I am used too, but this is just something that in time I am sure will feel all so normal. The tuner works great and a nice little addition that I am not used too.

I haven't tried semi acoustic through an amp so I cannot comment on this but if your like me looking for a play to pickup and enjoy then it ticks all of the boxes and I am sure will indulge many hours of enjoyment.

I have always wanted an Ovation guitar since the early 2000's but they
were always out of my price range. I was recently looking on the internet
and googled Ovation and that flagged up Thomann GmbH. After looking
at their vast selection of round back guitars I fell in love with the Ovation
CS28P-KAOB-G. I added this to my bookmarks and for the next couple of weeks I couldn't stop looking at this guitar and wishing I owned this very model. I was looking at my dream guitar and was thinking, that if I don't buy one now I never will, as I am coming up to 69 years old.
My Wife said that if that was what I wanted then she would buy it for my Birthday. ( How Lucky am I )
I have received my dream guitar and it is everything I could have hoped for. The guitar came well wrapped and boxed. The quality is exceptional both visually and sound quality when plugged in to an amp, or played without. This product deserves a 5 star rating as does the amazing customer service that the company Thomann GmbH give.

Da dies nicht meine erste Ovation ist, aber die erste
"Made in China" , muss ich zugeben,
dass ich schon nervös war.
Aber
die Ovation CS28P-KOAB besticht mich nicht nur durch ihr "umwerfendes Aussehen",
(die hier gezeigten Bilder bringen die einzigartige Decke wirklich nicht zur Geltung).
Die Verarbeitung ist erstaunlich Gut.
Die Mechaniken machen erstmal einen guten, soliden Eindruck, sind leichtgängig, aber nicht nachgiebig.
Tonabnehmer, Stimmgerät und Preamp funktionieren tadellos und sind absolut Bühnen tauglich. Auch bei hoher Lautstärke hatte ich bisher keine Rückkopplung.
Sound und Bespielbarkeit überzeugen, wie ich es von Ovation gewohnt bin.
Bünde, Griffbrett und Hals sind sauber gearbeitet und liegen sehr gut in der Hand. Die Saitenlage ist einfach perfekt!
Auch ohne Verstärker kommt ein Glasklarer, voller Klang mit überraschender Lautstärke und Durchsetzungsvermögen rüber.

Alles in allem:
Eine exzellente Gitarre mit einmalig sensationellem Aussehen,
die, für dieses Preissegment, mit guter Verarbeitung und sehr gutem Klang daher kommt
und sich durch leichte Bespielbarkeit auszeichnet.

Ein Großes Lob auch an das Musikhaus Thomann.
