Fun, good sound, limited range

I bought this as a way to occasionally play a few short sax licks with a ukulele band. For that, it is perfectly reasonable. Begin in C is a huge benefit (no transposing).
If you're looking into buying a jSax, you're not exactly looking for that ultimate sax sound, so I doubt you'll be disappointed with it. It sounds surprisingly good, way better than a "plastic toy" sound, but it's no brass instrument.
As a complete beginner (I had never played the sax before), it was surprisingly easy to get a bit of sound out of it. Practice makes perfect though, you'll sound like a cat in heat for the first few times.

Overall, I really like it. It's an actual musical instrument, but "not very serious" musicians.

Mieux que ce à quoi je m'attendais

Si j'ai acheté le jSAX, c'est parce que je voulais m'essayer aux instruments à vent type saxophone.

Mon expérience dans ce domaine se résumai à un essai de 5 minutes sur un saxophone il y a 20 ans lors d'une soirée bien arrosée, et 5 minutes sur la clarinette d'un ami il y a environs 10 ans.

J'avais un peu peur de galérer au début pour sortir un son avec le jSAX, mais au final, en utilisant l'anche force 1.5 c'est vraiment très simple !!
Cela permet à un grand débutant comme moi de travailler la position de la bouche sur le bec, sans que ce ne soit trop galère.

Le seul petit problème est qu'avec l'anche force 1.5, lorsque l'on part dans les notes les plus aigus, le son du jSAX ressemble plus au son d'une bombarde qu'au son d'un saxo.
(c'est aussi surement du à une mauvaise maitrise de ma part)

Ensuite, lorsque l'on a "trouvé l'truc" avec l'anche force 1.5, on monte l'anche force 2 et la on sort des sons qui ressemblent beaucoup plus à un vrai saxophone.

J'ai remarqué aussi, qu'il y a deux choses qui me font faire "des canards"; Ils se produisent soit parce que ma bouche est mal positionnée sur l'anche, soit parce que je bouche mal un des trous.
Du coup les petits capuchons vendus avec le jSAX et qui se positionnent sur les clés du bas, permettent d'éliminer le problème des trous mal bouchés et donc de travailler plus particulièrement la position de la bouche. (je trouve cela vraiment bien pensé pour les débutants)

Bref, j'avais quelques craintes en achetant cet instrument, mais au final c'est exactement ce que je recherchais :
"Un instrument pas chère qui m'a permis de voir si le saxophone est un instrument qui me plais à jouer et qui va me permettre d?apprendre la technique avant de m'acheter un véritable saxophone."

Auf YouTube gibt es jede Menge Filme von Leuten, die lustige Musik auf dem jSax spielen. Mir gelingt das leider gar nicht. Irgendwie ist mir da mein eigener Körper im Weg. Ist wohl eher was für Kinder und ganz schlanke Leute. Da das aber eindeutig an meinen überflüssigen Pfunden liegt, gibt es trotzdem fünf Sterne. Die Verarbeitung ist makellos, die Idee genial mit all den Features für kleine Hände, der Sound echt "saxy". Die Ansprache ist etwas schwieriger als beim Clarineo.

Ich bin echt erstaunt

Nachdem die im Haus wohnenden Mitmieter mein Saxophon-Üben nicht ganz so lustig fanden, habe ich mich dummer Weise von diesem Instrument getrennt, dann aber doch im Nachhinein bereut.
Nun bin ich eher zufällig auf das Nuvo JSax gestoßen und dachte erst: "hmmm was soll das denn sein...". Und wieder mal hat es sich bestätigt: man soll erst ausprobieren und dann urteilen. M. E. ist es sehr erstaunlich, wie gut dieses JSax doch klingt. Ich bin wirklich überrascht - und alle anderen Zuhörer auch.
Bei nächster Gelegenheit hole ich mir aber doch wieder ein Saxophon :-)
