Niente male per entrare nell'universo api-500

Cercavo uno slot della sere api-500 senza sbancarmi. Il bello di questi aggeggi è ti permettono di iniziare un po' alla volta e poi ampliare non mano. Devo dire che questo prodotto è solido e ben costruito. Inizialmente ho occupato il primo slot a sinistra, con un Neve 1073LB da solo. Era udibile un piccolo ronzio dall'alimentatore, anche se il rumore era solo fisico e non entrava direttamente nel circuito. Da quando ho occupato anche il secondo slot con un bellissimo Igs 576 blue stirpe, il ronzio è scomparso (misteri dell'elettronica) e quindi sono ancora più soddisfatto. Non vedo l'ora di riempire i rimanenti slot con altri bellissimi moduli. Vivamente consigliato!

Unbeatable for the budget oriented or beginner!

After decades of recording, I decided to get into the 500 world. Not knowing I would be crazy about the format in general, I looked and looked and 500 frames vary wildly in price (200€ to 2000€) - that's just crazy.

Frustrated after weeks of looking, pondering, I bought this unit thinking "well, at least if I do not like the format I won't lose a ton of money" I expected a piece of junk.

What I received was a very robust and attractive unit. I continue to be impressed with the quality of the unit and have not had an issue with it yet.

I have read other reviews of this unit and I know not everyone will have the same experience. This product is definitely "imported" - so consider that when purchasing. It was created to make a buck at a specific price point - and I look at it as a bit of a gamble. But the good thing is that if it doesn't work, you can send it back!

Though I must say I am please by it's quality and when I tun it on, I leave it on for hours and hours (sometimes overnight) and I have not had a moment's thought or worry of it's performance. I am using various modules from SSL, Elysia, and Warm. So I have placed a decent amount of trust into it at this point.

Pros:
* Super beefy and solid feeling
* After almost 1 year of regular use, it still running strong
* nice channel jumping/bus features

Cons:
* none to speak of, it's an import product at a super low price - expect to get what you pay for, but be pleasantly surprised at the overall quality!

Great product, really bad power supply

This product is well built, looks amazing and would love to have kept it, but...
After switching on the unit, it started to make a slight hissing noise. When I applied phantom power on my API 512V the hissing increased. Engaging the pad switch on top of the 48v switch resulted in even more hissing. Unusable for me.
It seems too good to be true at this price point... really disappointing so I sent it back...
