What a Sound!!

This review hardly needs writing, because if you're viewing this product, you already know how damn good this drum is! An absolutely stunning looking and sounding drum right from the word go. Sounds great tuned up nice and tight for a real loud 'crack', and equally good tuned back for a good open sound!! And this drum is LOUD. The only two things i would have to say against this drum are -

Change the heads as soon as you get it out of the box, the standard ludwig ones are pretty poor. Also, the snare strainer looks like its been made from an old bean tin!

But other than these two minor little things, if you want a snare drum, BUY THIS ONE!!

Llevo ya seis meses con ella y no tengo más que alabanzas para esta caja. Ahora entiendo por qué es la caja más grabada en estudio. Se ajusta perfectamente a cada situación y estilo musical que requiera. Yo toco en un grupo de Hard Rock y aunque en ocasiones compongamos Funk, se ajusta muy bien a ambos estilos.
Si andas con dudas de cuál caja comprar, desde luego que yo te recomiendo esta.

Für mich, der Snaresound überhaupt!

Ich habe viele Alternativen ausprobiert aber an den Sound der Ludwig Supraphonic 14x5 kommt für mich keine andere Snare ran. Verarbeitung Top. Es ist auf jeden Fall ein sehr spezieller Sound. Ohne Dämpfingsring sehr sehr obertonreich. Was ich aber bevorzuge.

Très bon son mais problèmes de coulure dans la caisse.

Le son de la Ludwig LM400 ne m'a pas déçu, en revanche, je serais moins élogieux sur la finition du produit.

J'ai commandé la caisse claire une première fois et il y avait à l'intérieur de la caisse des traces de coulure rouge assez laides, et qui couvraient un bon quart du pourtour. J'ai eu d'autres caisses claires métalliques auparavant dans d'autres marques, mais n'ai pas eu ce problème. J'ai donc échangé la caisse claire. La deuxième qui m'a été envoyée présente également des traces de coulure, quoique un peu moins étendues. Cela me suggère qu'il y a un problème structurel autour de ces caisses claires. J'ai lu un commentaire sur la LM 402 qui va également dans ce sens (voir les commentaires Thomann sur la LM 402).

C'est dommage que Ludwig n'apporte pas plus de soins à ce genre problèmes, étant donné le mythe autour des LM 400/402 et le prix des instruments.
