Great JTM45 in a box/Plexi type pedal

Works great plugged into a clean Marshall - sounds like a Marshall (duh!). Put an overdrive before it and it's superb to boost for solos. It does the mid gain very well - lots of thick juicy mellow and smooth tones from this pedal. Buy it and you won't regret it! As always JHS pedals feel very liquidy, without the weight of the distortion to drag around when you are playing!

Très bon produit, un son de qualité et très typé old school
Mime à la perfection une saturation type lampe.

Pour mon usage, il me manque un peu saturation, pour avoir une bonne plage d'utilisation.
La pédale est branchée sur un Marshall Vintage Modern, et c'est peut-être un peu too much niveau chaleur du son. Le vintage modern est déjà très chaleureux et la pédale aussi.

Très bonne réponse au volume de la guitare.

Enfin, je pense que je ne suis qu'au début des connaissances de la pédale (3 semaines d'utilisation pour le moment)

Guter Overdrive mit kleinen Einschränkungen

Das Pedal sitzt am Ende der Pedalkette zum anblasen eines cleanen Amps. Da ich lieber mehrere Overdrives hintereinander schalte, ist der Charlie Brown auf "halb" im Drive eingestellt.

Das Pedal soll einen JTM45 imitieren, das gelingt für mein Ohr nur eingeschränkt. Die Qualität des Klangs ist stark vom dahinter werkelnden Amps abhängig. Vor einem Dr Z38 Top passt der Charlie Brown nicht so gut wie vor einem Peavey Classic 30. Dessen etwas mittige Klang-Ausrichtung gibt dem Charlie Brown mehr Biss, der dem Pedal für mein Ohr etwas fehlt.

Zu weit sollte man den Overdrive nicht aufdrehen, vor allem nicht mit Strat-Halspickup, das wird schnell matschig. Was toll funktioniert, ist, den CB mit einem Boost anzublasen.

Der Charlie Brown V4 unterscheidet sich von seinen Vorgängern durch einen dreibandigen EQ, der sehr gut funktioniert. Die Vorgänger hatten für mein Ohr allerdings insgesamt mehr Aggressivität im Sound, V4 ist manchmal etwas beliebig.

Fazit: ein gutes Pedal, das jedoch nicht immer den gewünschten Ton produziert.

Une pédale qui transforme mon son

Pédale continuellement activée sur mon board, avec un haut gain (3/4) la pédale réagis a merveille au bouton volume de la guitare, permet donc de passer un clean bien chaud a un bon drive bien marshall juste avec le volume de la guitare

Un must!!!

PS: un must pour le son AC/DC si vous le souhaitez
