ho un bassman '59 reissue di una ventina d'anni fa. il mese scorso, registrando un gruppo nel mio studiolo, mi vantavo della bellezza di questo ampli e del suono assassino sia col basso che con la chitarra. attaccato lo strumento del bassista lucchese è cominciato uno spernacchiamento continuo.. bella figura!! i quattro coni mi avevano abbandonato in un sol colpo ma questo l'ho verificato solo la settimana scorsa. tutti sfondati. così, fra un pianto e un lamento, ho ordinato quattro nuovi jensen. come i vecchi, sono prodotti ad ancona e sembrano proprio uguali ai precedenti. le linguette sono leggermente più flessibili, segno che si è un po' risparmiato su alcuni materiali ma non è grave. importante è che il suono sia magnifico e che potrò tornare a godere delle prestazioni del mio bassman e a vantarmene. fra qualche giorno, quando i nuovi jensen avranno "mollato" un minimo, ci sarà da divertirsi. arrivati in un imballo spettacolare!

With a strat . . .

Using a pair of these in an open back cabinet powered off a small amp in stereo. With a Strat they really bring out the jangle and those elusive delicate qualities of the guitar. Delay, reverb and modulation effects come across well. The natural overdrive of the amp seems to work with the speakers to give a satisfying sense of edgy articulaton.

They are bright and cutting and start working hard at a lower volume which is exactly what I was aiming at with this cabinet build.

What anyone feels about a guitar speaker is quite subjective. The subtle differences are almost impossible to quantify even from the best demos. What it eventually boils down to is "do they make you want to play more?" These speakers "feel" good - I find myself enjoying the sound and wanting to play more.

I bought these about a year ago and I'm pleased with them.

I bought a pair of P10Rs for a 4x10 cabinet in which I put them together with a pair of Eminence blue frame alnico’s in X pattern. The cabinet is made of pine in the dimensions of a bassman 59 combo, openback. On it I play a boutique head 5f6a, but with some modifications, such as master, gain channel, kt88 tubes, fx loop ... I can't be more satisfied, that's what I was looking for for this amplifier.

I bought one of there P10R to match it with an Eminence Legend 1058 in a 2x10 open back guitar cab I built.
I was looking for a companion able to enrich the good mid response of ceramic Legend and I found Jensen alnico to fullfill perfectly my needs: it adds firm and deep bass end plus the open and detailed top end I was looking for and in midband frequecies it perform better to my ears than bigger P12 alnico speaker (they sound more mid scoped).
Now the final well balanced configuration for the cab is Jensen P10R + Eminence 1058.
