Peccato solo per un difetto

Le corde sono di buona fattura, e il suono non è male.
L'unico problema che ho riscontrato è che l'8va corda (che normalmente per sua dimensione presenta un restringimento del diametro nella parte terminale, al fine di facilitare l'ingresso nella meccanica della paletta) è troppo corta, quindi lo "scalino" della corda si trova prima del capotasto... ovvero in corrispondenza del primo tasto della tastiera.
Ovviamente risulta impossibile suonarla la corda in quella maniera.
Bisognerebbe accertarsi prima della scala della propria chitarra, cosa che non ho fatto perchè davo per scontato le corde fossero abbastanza lunghe visto che erano previste per una 8 corde...
Io ho una Schecter da 26,5" col ponte fisso, e le corde al ponte sono inserite dentro il corpo (da "dietro" per intenderci) e a quanto pare questo ha "mangiato" molta corda tanto da non farla arrivare fino in fondo al punto della meccanica... peccato.

Good Strings

It's hard to find 8 strings set so we should really just appreciate Ernie Ball's effort in this one.
Anyway, the string is ok for 8 strings tuned 1 step down, too tight for standard tuning for my feeling and usable under 1 step down (remember tension depends on your guitar scale too).
What I found weird (if not bad) is the progression of string's gauge, especially in the 4° to 6° string which I found too thick but too thin on the 8° string.
If you have no idea about what string gauge you should be looking for for your 8, consider taking a normal pack of 6 + 2 separate strings for the 7° and 8°.
If you think that's the gauge you are looking for and you are just wondering about the sound and stuff, they definitely have the ernie ball sound, which is very good being industrial strings.

Secondo me il suono non è male e anche la fabbricazione è a posto.
Premetto che ho utilizzato il set principalmente su una Ibanez RG2127Z 7 corde, provando sia ad eliminare la 0.10 e/o eliminando la 0.74. Non ho riscontrato problemi di installazione.

Bright, long lasting strings

The Ernie Ball 2625 string set for was one of the first on the market for 8 string players, and as with all EB strings they are bright, smooth and long lasting. Upon purchase of an eight string I was reasonably skeptical regarding one of the major manufacturers getting the gauges right, and resigned myself to mixing and matching to get the desired tensions. I was therefor pleasantly surprised to find the 2625 set absolutely bang on! That said, scale length and tuning become serious factors... tuning too much below standard on anything under a 27inch scale length may present a very floppy 8th string. However, swapping out the supplied .74 for a .80 single string is no huge inconvenience.
Recording with Slinky‘s is always a joy, and this set is no exception, retaining a natural feel and long lasting tonality. When swapping out the 8th string (another manufacturer - no names mentioned!) that string becomes dull and indistinct on average twice as quickly as the rest of the set.
So Ernie Ball does it again - although on reflection perhaps the .74 could be increased a little to cover all bases...
