Excellent Axe for the price
Jimmyy 18.02.2021
I have been playing this guitar for 3 weeks now (since when this review was written) and I have had little to no problems with it. It genuinely is a really good guitar and fits what I needed perfectly.

The fat neck feels great and is even all the way down and around the guitar, I find that it is easy to glide my hand up and down the fretboard along with the lacquer finish being very even and smooth. Even if my hand becomes sweaty the neck is still very comfortable to play on. Tuning and intonation operate perfectly also.

The only cons I can associate with the guitar is that there is a slight scratchy sound and feel when trying to bend on the low three strings (E A and D). I resolved this problem by polishing the frets and applying some lemon oil to the fretboard however and now the guitar plays as smooth as ever.

Very Very Good!!!
Anonimo 16.10.2022
I’ve had in the past others Epiphone 335 guitars like the Dot, and one “Pro model” that I sold, and also had one Es 339 with Probuckers. This one was the best Epiphone that I have bought I think!!!
It came well set up!! Everything is is good shape, well cut Nut, by the way they change, now is much better !!! The frets are really nice cut as well!!
Plays much better also!!! The truss rod is ok, don’t need to set up. The pickups are really good!!! Comparing with one Dangelico DC Boardwalk that has Seymour Duncan, and it is very nice guitar, this Epi with this pickups has a great vibe !!! This probuckers delivery a more vintage sound, in my opinion. Similar in sound with the Gibson 335.
The guitar weight is around 3,55 kg wicht is really good with a great vibe and even unpluged sounds great with very good sustain, caracteristic of a great guitar. The color I order was Cherry Red and is very nice. The fretboard is from Pau Ferro wood and came similar in color of a rosewood, so it was nice!
I really enjoy this guitar, and think I did a great buy on this. I bought from Thomann and it came in very good condition. The pots are also much better then the others 335 and works very nicely and smooth. So, to short the story I think Epiphone Inspired by Gibson is a Much better guitar comparing from the old times, I was in doubt to buy a Ibanes As 93, or even a Sire 335, but I choose this Epi. I’am glad I did!!!! To finish, the Headstock is now nicely and the the machines are perfect and stays in tune very well!!! Good luck!!!!

Absolute Quality

Took delivery of the Inspired by Gibson Es335 today. Fantastic service from thomann, received 5 days after dispatch. When ordered it appeared that it wouldn't be available until April, so pleasantly surprised to get it so soon.
The guitar itself is far beyond my expectations- gorgeous. Some reviews online have indicated issues with quality control, but the guitar I got was flawless. Absolutely pristine. Binding was perfect, no issues with frets at all, and action was ideal. Lovely detailing around the f-holes, and paint finish is flawless. Owning a few other epiphone, I was intrigued to see how this stacked up vs the Casino and LP from a quality perspective, and it is clear that this is indeed a seriously well put together instrument.
Sound is amazing - tones warm and full, and character shines through. Really looking forward to getting better acquainted with this special machine!

Pleasantly Surprised!
guitar_00 29.11.2024
I was in the market for a 335 style guitar. Epiphone was the obvious choice even though some other brands offer high quality instruments too (e.g. Larry Carlton) but I wanted the "original" shape/vibe.

I was not expecting much due to the price point but I was very pleasantly surprised. I will keep it short:

1) Frets: 9/10. Regarding fret edges the guitar was perfect. Literally zero sharp fret ends, very smooth. -1 point because they were a bit rough/scratchy when bending. So I had to polish them a bit. After doing so it's much better.
2) Finish: 10/10. Zero blemishes regarding the finish. The red looks great in person and the top had some nice wood figures underneath.
3) Setup: 9/10. Intonation spot on, no fret buzzing even after I changed strings to 9s. -1 point because the nut was not properly glued in. To be fair there was glue under it but as soon as I removed the strings I saw it moving so I had to add two tiny dots of super glue and now it's perfect in it's place.
4) Sound: 9/10. The pickups are great, you can get any sound you can imagine from it. I went from smooth cleans, to gnarly blues to chugging metal on it so I believe it will be fun to mess around with it.
5) Fretboard: 9/10. I was speptical since it's laurel but it was decently dark looking and I couldn't feel any major difference to rosewood. After applying Dunlop 02 twince before I put new strings on it, it became much darker, hydrated and ready to rock.

Overall I was very pleasantly surprised by the instrument. It need a few adjustments here and there but now it plays very very well! It's a keeper and I'm really happy with it.
