Ho voluto ridare vita ad un mio vecchio basso Ibanez che tra poco compie 28 anni.... con questo articolo ed i pick-up sempre EMG ci sono riuscito, con un bel suono ricco di basse ma definite e medie alte taglienti!. lavoro riuscito!

Volevo migliorare la resa sonora di uno Squier e dato che già ianni fa mi ero rivolto ad EMG con soddisfazione ho scelto questi magneti. Alcune premesse (soprattutto per chi è nuovo ad EMG): sono pick up attivi e quindi necessitano di una pila. Nella scatola c'è tutto il kit necessario per il montaggio che si fa senza saldature. Non sempre è possibile alloggiare la pila sotto la placca controlli (dipende dal basso ovviamente) senza fresare una parte di legno. I pomelli compatibili con i knob EMG sono gli originali Fender (con la vitarella) o comunque quelli con le caratteristiche degli originali Fender.
Che viene da esperienze solo con pick up in alnico potrebbe rimanere deluso da un volume di uscita non altissimo. Fa parte delle caratteristiche dei magneti e il consiglio (non solo mio ma di EMG) è sempre quello di avvicinare il più possibile i pick up alle corde arrivando al vostro limite.
Per me una scelta che rifarei. Ho guadagnato in precisione e un suono sempre gestibile sia dal mio ampli che dal fonico

Nella tradizione EMG, suono definito e silenziosi. Accoppiati alla loro elettronica Bts sono perfetti

Great pickups

I really like them! I ve been using emg?s since the late 80`s! I have them on most of my basses! They soung great, are reliable and quiet, versatile in any situation especially in the studio! I find it hard to understand that people find them sterile and too clean sounding? If you have a decent bass and you can play your instrument I think they sound great! Ask any top pro! I even put these in myself! No soldering!
Highly unusual that this time I had two pickups the same lenght in the box! Thomann immediately replaced them! The second time I was a volume pot short! Again Thomann replaced them and told me to take what I needed from the both! I did this and returned the rest! Annoying, but great and friendly service from Thomann! It must be an unusual fault with emg Quality control? Anyway my Fender jazz bass sounds splendid!! Many thanks Thomann!

Update Nov 2019; Nearly 3 years on with the same battery! I?ve got the same old daddario rounds on and the bass with the emgs sounds great! I roll the tone almost off and the bass sounds very vintage indeed with either the front pu rolled off a little, or both pups on! I?m really loving the sound now! Just thought I?d share this!
