Nearly fabulous . . .

Nearly fabulous, because while in every other respect this guitar is top quality, the tremolo does not stay in tune. Despite the wobbly bridge and beautifully made nut some strings go flat and peculiarly some sharp! This is very disappointing; I have owned many types, never finding any one much good, thought Duesenberg might have succeeded as per their boast, alas just the same . . .
However I love that Duesenberg has made all the components - and in Art Deco style; the three-step motif is repeated on tuners, headstock and scratch plate. Also the standard of build and set up is exemplary. The fitted 10-50 strings feel good, easy bending (although the tremolo works against this). The fingerboard and frets are super. The pickup selector is a bit clunky, care has to be taken changing if recording. Tuners work very smoothly (just as well since they get a lot of use thanks to that tremolo!).
A puzzle is why this guitar model has a flat back, other Starplayers have gentle arches.
I changed the strap buttons to the Duesenberg multi sort, very secure even without strap locks, and coupled with their soft leather strap the guitar is very comfortable to play standing or sitting.
A very nice touch is the concave shape of the jack socket, which allows easy connection by feel. The guitar case is by far the best I have ever seen - Gibson and Collings included!
All in all a great guitar if you can forgive and live with the usual tremolo annoyance.

Vorab vielen Dank an Thomann, wie immer schnelle Lieferung und alles bestens verpackt.
Zuerstmal der Koffer- der ist schon ein erstes Highlight. Da passt nur die Duese rein, der perfekt verarbeitete Maßanzug für den Transport eines so edlen Teils.
Der Knaller sind die 4 Pflaster in einer packung im Zubehör, falls man sich mal die Finger wund spielt.
Zur Gitarre, was soll ich sagen, einfach eine Klasse für sich. Die Optik ist der Hammer, noch nie habe ich soviele Komplimente für eine Gitarre bekommen.
Die Speilbarkeit ist sehr, sehr gut. Der Hals liegt satt in der Hand, die Bünde sind perfekt abgerichtet, die Saitenlage somit auch perfekt. Nichts klirrt, auch bei heftigstem Anschlag nicht. Das Tremolo läuft butterweich und die Gitarre verstimmt sich kaum bis gar nicht.
Der Sound ist so vielseitig und so eigen Duese, man kann jeden Ton fühlen, auch durch den Hollowbody am Bauch. Sehr angenehm.
Die Soundmöglichkeiten mit der neuen Schaltung der Tonpotis sind sehr, sehr vielfältig.
Vieles ist möglich! Der Ton liegt zwischen Fender Strat, Tele und Gibson (ich habe alle Drei) etwas näher an der Gibson, ist aber immer eigen und hat eine twang und perlen im Sound, das ich so noch nicht hatte und kannte.
Diese Gitarre schlägt sogar meine MusicMan Luke in Bespielbarkeit und Sound. Ist natürlich auch immer Geschmackssache, über die man nicht streiten kann.
Für mich aber ist jetzt, mit 56 Jahren, die Suche nach der perfekten E-Gitarre erstmal zu Ende. Schade, obwohl...Duesenberg hat ja noch andere tolle Gitarren...

Fidèle à ce à quoi je m'attendais.
Une finition parfaite, une sonorité pleine de dynamique et de sustain, un vrai confort de jeu, du haut de gamme.

Excelente construcción y sonido

La guitarra no solo es bonita, sino que es un instrumento con un sonido increíble y con un mástil cómodo pese a ser un instrumento de escala larga.

Voy solo a destacar los cuatro inconvenientes que le he encontrado tras dos años de uso.

1. A mi juicio el golpeador transparente necesitaría un tornillo de sujeción más en la punta que queda cerca del control de volumen porque cabe la posibilidad de arrancarlo por accidente.

2. La funda de la guitarra queda muy justa teniendo en cuenta la palanca del tremolo. Hay que aflojar la palanca cada vez que guardamos la guitarra (llave allen) o si no el puente irá todo el rato obligado.

3. hay que comprender los controles Vario Tone. Tienen una doble función. Desde el punto intermedio hacia adelante (rodar a la izquierda) son un control de tono. Del punto intermedio hasta justo antes de la posición trasera no hacen nada. Girados totalmente a la derecha cambian el sonido de las pastillas, dándole un feeeling de tipo split coil.

4. Los acabados metálicos de todos los herrajes son NIQUELADOS NO CROMADOS. Eso hace que se empañen pronto perdiendo el brillo metálico y tengan aspecto sucio. Por mucho que le pasemos un paño después de tocar, acaban con ese aspecto opaco que parece suciedad. Me sorprendió muchísimo porque a mi no me sudan nada las manos y siempre le paso un paño antes de guardarla. El propdio fabricante ha reconocido esta situación en su página web.

De momento eso le he encontrado. Es un guitarrón brutal y precioso que ni siquiera necesitas conectar al ampli para saberlo porque suena sola. Conectada a un amplificador parece que tenga reverb natural de tanto sustain y harmónicos.
