The TRI Colour RGB LEDs provide very good color mixing directly under the lens, resulting in no more unintentional RGB shadows

Bought 8 of these a couple of years ago, I've used them extensively as front wash or back lights for concerts and theater. Light output is obviously low since it's a 7x3w unit, and they get lost at distances higher than 3/4 meters from the enlighted object/person. They work good in indoor places with low ceilings. I like the effect they make as black backdrop lighting from the ground. Full Red, Green, Blue and Cyan and Magenta are OK, Yellow/Amber (at different gradients of Red and Green) is less than OK (red and green leds don't mix perfectly) and full White is way less than OK, too greeny and shady. Warm White tones are impossible to get, which is a big issue when working with theater or dance/musical companies.
Reliability became an issue recently: one broke after a year (didn't accept dmx signal and had to be sent back for repair), broke again after a while and two others have broken more recently (red channel stopped working in both cases, always right after soundcheck and minutes before the show!). They were good for the kind of jobs I did two years ago (mainly rock bands and dj's in small clubs and venues), now I need more powerful units with better color mixing for outdoor shows and thater (at least RGBW or RGB WW). I'll probably replace them with better products as soon as budget allows.

This is a terrific value light, I brought two to try and am so pleased that I intend to get another four. I use mine for general disco and small stage work, they are much brighter than I expected. A friend who has a band was so impressed, he is also going to buy some. Once you make out the instructions, which are a little confusing, then they're a doddle. Great for using in small venues as low power consumption and heat. These will be replacing my tungsten PAR's. Only improvement I would make is to be able to Daisy Chain the power leads as well as the DMX.
