My thoughts on the Mackie CR5 BT
So I received these speakers before Christmas. All in all I think they are a decent pair with a few minor issues but first I'll give the Pros.

So I have these speakers in the living room and currently hooked up to my turntable setup/ mixer etc and have been using them mostly for that. The room is just off the kitchen so having the bluetooth feature is great to sync up your phone or laptop for easy listening.

The speaker finish is very nice. Its a sturdy build with a nice wooden cabinet and reminds of the more expensive speaker cabinets like the KRK ROKIT range or Yamaha HS range. I personally really like the green finish around the woofer and tweeter and the bluetooth button also syncs in a gree light and the dial on the front turns green when the speakers are on, nice overall look.

There is a great sound from these speakers for the price, definitely has good quality from across the spectrum. I'm happy with the clarity of the mids and highs, people expecting more have to take in to consideration the price your paying.

A few more handy features is the aux cable in the front for devices to be connected for play back, the positioning switch for added user preference and the fact that the speakers inputs include rca as well as 1/4" jack inputs. For me my mixer outputs are rca so thats one of the reason I went for these speakers.

So for me the speakers had a few little flaws, one being the bluetooth button on the front is not a solid state button so when I was playing electronic music at high volumes I noticed it would rattle from the bass, bit annoying but not enough to send back and this could also just be my pair. Also I felt the speakers was a bit heavy on the low end/ bass even when listening via phone connected and not with the bass on my mixer adjusted.

So in conclusion, I have been listening to HS8 in my sitting room for the last year so I knew buying these speakers that they wouldn't obviously be the same considering the price difference alone nevermind the size etc but for what you are paying, the CR5 BTs are a great solid build speaker that do give a good full sound for a good listening experience. I would imagine for anyone out there looking for some nice speakers for music editing in their room these would definitely ideal for that especially on a low budget. There is added Acoustic Isolations-Pads added for each speaker which is also a nice touch.

Nice set of Back-Up Monitors.

As the title suggests I'm not using these as my main reference monitors, more like as hi-fi speakers.

These are one of a number of setups I'll use at the end of a mix to see how it sounds over different quality speakers.

I gotta say, for the price of these monitors and the fact that they have bluetooth connectivity built in to them, these are great little speakers.

The sound quality and build quality both seem pretty solid.
The bluetooth is super handy.
The price is very reasonable.

Ideally you'd want to be pairing these with a subwoofer for a proper full sound but they're not bad on their own.

Would Recommend.
