Multifunction product

A number of happy coincidences brought this product to my attention. I was looking for a way to Live dj on Facebook, but with high-quality stereo sound. Checked youtube and C J Scratch came to the rescue. I had just also changed my phone contract from Android to iPhone and also got in fiber broadband. So there I was Line6 Sonic Port-Iphone-Mobile Pod (Free) and fast upload, did my first mix for an hour without a hitch and was told the sound was perfect. Mind you Facebook advised me not to save or post the mix as it might contravene copyright...so be careful out there :).

Guitar...at first no sound when set up as advised. I have IPhone 5...checked the forums and saw a hint to go to settings-mobile pod-Microphone...it was switched off, set to on and worked perfectly. Why was my mic off? don't know, will I need it off for live broadcast through line in? not sure, but at least I know where to look. The amp simulations and effects are just great value for money, the sound is clean and the layout is simple to use.
Two things I would have liked. A charging port on the Line6 (Apple probably would not allow it).
At the moment I have not figured out how to monitor the line in on the headphone out, or is it even possible.
Great product at a great price..more uses to be found for it for sure..jd

Must have!

The Line6 Sonic Port is the ideal companion for any budding guitarist, or intrumentalist.... easily connect your electric guitar (or keyboard) into your iPhone/iPad or iPod and play through the Line6 Mobile POD App. The amp simulation tones are excellent, and range from pure metal, rock & rock, jazz and blues. One also has complete control of the effects chain within this app - add delay, compression, echo, noise gates and chorus effects. Change cabinets, and tweak EQ to dial in your perfect tone.

Practice, and jam-along with a pair of headphones, or direct output via the line-out into your own amp for live gigs.

Recording on the go, is as easy - Mobile POD works with all Core-Audio apps - so plugging into and recording your licks, and riffs straight into Garage Band is quick and effortless. Now with Audio-Bus support, you can connect and run multiple music apps at the same time; playing through Mobile POD into Loopy HD, adding drum tracks and creating a live-loooping session.

I highly reccomend this product for any level of guitarist, from someone just looking to play along to their favourite tunes, to serious musicians who need access to recording on the go, away from the studio.

I have succesfully used the Sonic Port to pratice scales, solo-improvisions, and create my own loop tracks to jam along too. Small, portable its fits into my slim gig bag, no need for a heavy amp when you are on the road.
