Little box of tricks
Laptop Dancer, 11.01.2018
I ordered the fender mustang 1 v2 after researching modelling amps for home recording and practicing.
My requirements were - A compact design, a good selection of effects, a direct record out function (but with enough wattage If needed to record with a microphone) and a headphone socket for late night practicing.
Well, the Mustang 1 V2 amp ticks all the boxes and more!
The 24 factory preset sounds on the amp are pretty decent with an array of onboard effects that can be altered or turned off to requirement from the top panel. There is also a tap button to set the delay time and modulations of the effects. The Amp emulations are superb with all the classic fender amp choices from twin, bassman etc. with decent Vox, Marshall and Orange copies added too.
The best feature about this amp though, is it?s free Fuse software (downloaded at fender?s website). Once installed on a computer and connected to the amp (via the included USB cable) it becomes clear just what endless sonic possibilities there are!
All presets can be tweaked, modified and even rewritten to your own desire. Customisable presets can be created from scratch choosing different amps and effects such as Stomp boxes, compressors, modulation, reverb and delay pedals. These can also be placed before or after the amp chain.
Effects are limited to four per preset (only one delay at a time) but thats more than enough.
Another huge advantage of this system is that not only can you make new individual presets but you can compile a complete bank of 24 new presets and save them to a folder on your computer. These can then be batch loaded onto the amp when you need them. So in the scenario that you are working on many different music projects you can load in 24 new presets each time to play around with.
Although I would have preferred a more robust jack socket for the headphone input instead of a mini jack it does double up as a stereo out for recording. Perfect for recoding the stereo delay and reverbs.
In conclusion I?m really pleased with the Mustang 1 V2.
I wouldn?t necessarily recommend this amp if you are a plug in and play guitarist. However, if you have some experience with computer software and sound creation then this is the perfect little amp to create an arsenal of great guitar sounds for home recordings and practicing.

Its a good amp!!
ItzUknown, 20.11.2020
Handling and Features
The Fender Mustang I V.2 is an amazing amp for the price. Handling wise, its quiet heavy (8kg) though its doable to take it in a small gig or a friends home (stay safe and wear your mask!!). Another reason why the Mustang is a good amp is its features. It has 5 knobs that control Gain, Volume, Bass, Treble and the Master Volume. Also it has built in 24 presets and 2 more knobs that control Delay and Mod. Delay controls the different forms of Reverb and Delay (I think also a phaser and some more) and the Mod knob controls the Auto-Wah, Octave down, Pinch 5th and a tone more which I don't even know what they do.

Sound and Quality
As far as the sound quality goes it doesn't sound like a Tube Amp nor like 4x12 cabinet though, I can tell you for sure that for more overdrive/clean tones its really good!! For metal or rock I wouldn't say its bad but the pedal that I use with it (TC Electronics fangs Distortion) on the clean channel does a better job. Lastly, it shouldn't be a surprise that the quality is amazing due to it being a Fender Amp.

Summary and final decision
In summary, I wouldn't hesitate buying this amp. Hope this review helps!!!

fuse is not working anymore, buy the newer one
Fots , 23.05.2020
I rated 2 stars so someone can find easily this review.
if you want all the customisation connecting it with a pc or smartphone, forget it, fuse is not working fender doesn't give you access
but it gives you good modelling for fender amps that respond well to input signal and pedals and you can hear them from headphones or studio monitors shine, with that price you get 3-4 good sounding amps that you would pay a fortune to have with amp in a box pedals
For a practice amp is good for bedroom level, but the speaker doesnt give you the fullness that the actual sounds have (it sound like a small practice amp), connect it to studio monitor or p.a etc and you feel like you are playing throught a bassman or a twin reverb etc its amazing, it needs a cabinet output to shine and it doesnt have this, also no fx loop so the lack of fuse is more obvious

You get what you pay for
afsartori, 21.10.2020
For the price, this is a pretty decent practice amp. You can choose a variety of sounds and effects, and also access more features through the Fender FUSE software (now discontinued). There you have access to more knobs and parameters for the amps, cabs and effects that you choose. Another feature is that you can directly record the output via USB into your DAW. I had a bit of delay, though. The sound is ok, but overall the amp sounds small and boxy compared, for example, the VOX Valvetronix VT15. At the end of the day, this is a small practice amp, so don't expect much in terms of sonic experience. It does lack quality and punch on that front, regardless if you play through the speaker or through headphones.
