The sticks for me
As expected of any Vic Firth stick, the 5A Extremes are great. They are especially good because of the extra length. I'm generally a smaller person and I chose them for this reason. I also came to find that they have a perfect balance between the length and the weight.
I generally only play rim shots on the snare, except for the ghost notes, and I tend to break a stick at around the 2-3 month mark, which I think is good, considering that I play almost every day.

Was looking for a longer 5A for more range and weight.
This feels really good, the 3 stars are due to the fact that it did not last as long as most of my Vic Firths, not great quality, or maybe a bad batch. I will order more and see.

It took me a couple years to find the perfect stick for me, finally found these. Super well balanced stick, the added length is perfect for me. If you like a forward balanced stick try these out.

Buy Tree Trunks if you're a rim shot guy . . .
In the bands I play I always land on a rim shot because you get more beef from your snare, it's like steak and I get a really tasty sound. The downside to this is I go through sticks like crazy. These are great sticks though, they are long and feel good when I play but I do recommend getting 1A's if you're going to smack the kit hard because you'll get through these in about 10 hours of going at it.

Well balanced, amazing feel, longer reach!
This pair of sticks has an amazing feel in my hands.
They are well balanced which is expected since it is Vic Firth.
The extra length gives longer reach and a more comfortable room for grip depending on what you are playing.
No cons for these durable and rigid sticks.

Perfect Sticks
Been playing for 10 years now, and only last year did I discover this Vic Firth. They fit perfectly my needs. Having that extra length is just that optimal stretch that I needed.
Feels very comfortable, can play with them for hours.
I play heavy metal and the last pair the broke lasted me about 6 months with daily rehearsals and at least 1 or 2 gigs per month.

New Classic
Moved from the classic 5a's and instantly fell in love with the added length. Really makes faster double strokes feel easier and like you can get more whip into them.

my fav stick
if you want some of that good ol'leverage that extra length of the sticks gives you, this is great. I am a rather tall guy (195cm) and prefer the longest possible sticks when I play. These are a golden standard for me.
