I loved MiniMoog's sound but couldn't afford it given that I'm just a hobbyist. And even if I could afford it I'd probably not spend all that money on a vintage machine with no midi support that would cost me a fortune to maintain in the future. So, when I saw this clone from Behringer it was an instant buy. And heck I'm not regretting it. The sound is simply amazing, pretty much 100% like the original thing. Plus the guys at Behringer were cool enough to add an extra LFO and proper Midi support. The only downside is that the knobs are too close to each other and turning certain knobs becomes a tedious process. But for the price and the sound... Who cares?
As far as the comments about whether it's unethical or not that Behringer is cloning other people's circuits: Hardware and VST company giants are doing that for ages. I don't see why there's a difference in an analog modeling software based synth that is literally acting the same way a Moog circuit is and an equal analog circuit.

The sound is crisp, full and rich, plus the additions that Behringer added to the original design (the CV sockets, the high pass filter, the LFO, The Env Decay switches) are very useful, and take things to a whole new level. In fact I must say that this synth, although a clone, has its own personality - to the point that I gave it a name, almost 2 hours after I started fiddling with it :)
The cons? I'd say the power button is a bit fiddly. Also -although I have no idea how the original synth behaved- I'd like the range of the Env Decay knobs, to be a bit more exponential, so that I could fine tune short decays more precisely - It was hard f.e. to dial a steep decay for a kick.
All and all, I'm very excited with the Model D, and I think... perhaps I can break my "no hardware" rule a bit more :)

The synth has all expected features, and handling feels good. The knobs are a bit msall, but this is something we see commonly nowadays with the small sized devices and modular equipment.
Aside from the expected features the addition of daisy poly chaining multiple Model D's makes it also tempting to build your own analog poly synth.
It works as a desktop or eurorack device, with a minor downside being the loose bolts used to fix it in its case, instead of a full bar. Once you have dismounted it from the case to put it in a rack, you will have a struggle to mount it back with all screws in the original case.
All in all, for the price tag it has, this is an irresistable offer, that offers you the real classic power in a compact and afforable format.
I don't see why you would not give it a try.

The knobs may take a while getting used to, since their travel is quite sensitive. It's better to make small turns when fine-tuning sounds in search of sweet spots.
In my opinion, the build quality is very good, and I haven't had any problems with it. I also appreciate the added USB Midi capability. Overall, it's a bargain at this price point, so pick it up if you're on the fence.

- It's very well and solidly built, all metal with wooden (I think real wood?) side panels
- All knobs all smooth and it feels quite easy to adjust them accurately
- It sounds like a Moog
- The sound quality is amazing
- Very little noise
- The added signal inputs and outputs are a very nice bonus! It works great together with e.g. a Crave as both a sequencer and modulation source
- MIDI
- LFO in addition to 3rd oscillator
Cons:
- I tried really hard, but I can't think of any cons yet... Maybe the power lead could be a little longer?

I use Model D in my home studio. Today it is my favorite synthesizer.
I liked the look and sound, but there are some weak elements on the back of the synthesizer. But in general, my opinion is that there are much more pluses than minuses.
Behringer made a really interesting product worthy of your attention.
There is really powerful, greasy bass here. I love him for that.
I recommend using it with Arturia KeyStep. This is really a killer combination.

It makes it much more difficult to find the sweetr spots and to program it than a regular genuine Mini...
I wish Behringer would make a fullsize version with better knobs and a keyboard like they did with the Arp Odyssey for instance...
I would pay 3 times the price for it...
It helps, is usavble but lacks a real musical instrument's feeling that the original provides (I had two vintage minis, one I regret,the other not so much, really too unstable, pitch will always vary, so no go)

An impeccable sound, which can go from the warmest sounds, to much fatter and more aggressive ones. No doubt Behringer is doing an incredible job, bringing quality technology at very affordable prices. Thus opening the range of analog synths to a greater number of people who could not otherwise afford to pay the prices of the original devices that outnumber these synths in a lot of money.
Really delighted with the Model D. And hoping to have already in my hands also the Neutron
A highly recommended purchase, whether you are a professional musician or want to start in music production.
Pros: Construction with quality finishes and materials.
Contras: I do not find any.

Its filter is very wide and there are lots of sweet spots and oscillators detune very very nicely. Its simple patchbay is also very useful, especially for the filter modulation and feedback.
Featurewise, of course, it is really limited since there is no patch memory and tuning is really a problem. It takes an hour to get it fixed at some fine tuning. But you can ignore these problems very very easily with its amazing sound and price.
Its build quality exceeded my expectations. Knobs are firm and solid. I also used the Deepmind which I think the build quality is really poor, but Behringer nailed the job with Model D.
As final words, if you have anything to do with the synthesizers you must buy this and try at least!
