The small recorder for hunger between

Philip Z., 29.12.2011
I've just gotten the zoom and just tried a little with it but am completely excited.
The condition is almost too simple and intuitive so that one looks for functions on the relatively large display, such as the choice of the microphone setting, although these are cleverly installed as a hardware element on the outside of the device.
It is also possible to control the input level and the monitor volume by means of regulators placed on the outer envelope, which makes a quick reaction possible and therefore more fluid work possible.

The device is very light and made of plastic, which is on the one hand very pleasant for transport, but probably means that too many falls are not in it.

The recording quality is better than expected and, in my view, much better than the predecessor, the Zoom H2.

The small additional pack provides everything you need, at least everything I need. A larger SD card most have anyway still somewhere rumfliegen, just like a battery charger, therefore, in my opinion, can be considered from the purchase of the large accessory pack.

A point of criticism, however, is that the bag included in the bundle for the Zoom H2n only provides space for the recording device itself. Here cih would have wished me that one simply to the manufacturers of various Fotoapperats pockets oriented and if necessary an extra pocket for the remote control and if necessary, the tripod attached to the bag. Since the device but is probably already in the backpack or the like with it is to be sorrowed, there will be somewhere a fabric bag or something similar, which solves the problem.

All in all, I am very glad my money was invested here and would have to pay every installments of a small device for spontaneous ideas or what else needs.

The price is also justified for absolutely!

Versatile all-rounder

Lukas036, 01.10.2012
I had already read some reviews and the like in the run-up and then decided to buy because of the predominantly positive opinion on this device. At first I was skeptical as to whether such a small thing can actually make as good recordings as it claims, but after the first attempts it convinced me.

I use it to take me to the organs in the church, actually only for the audition, but the recordings sound thanks to the extensive setting possibilities so well that I can use them quite differently. Thanks to the surrounds, the H2n also makes the room sound in the church very good. Even the very deep sounds are still audible, and the high rattling and shrieking also not, altogether very balanced.
And my fears that the organ might be too loud for the unit, has also turned out to be void.
I was equally impressed by the realistic sound of the recordings I made in nature. On a tripod to the North Sea coast one has the impression one would really be there, when one hears the recordings. The splitting of the waves can be heard singly and does not blur into a single major general noise.
And the seagull that calls from right to left can be clearly places. Very precise.
Also recordings from my guitar sound very clear and balanced.

The service is, if you have something familiar with it, quite simple. The available processing possibilities I use hardly, since I the recordings afterwards work on the PC.

The processing is fine, the plastic does not work very well, but if you do not drop it, it will probably hold. And you get used to the "Schlabberige" record button.

All in all, a good entry-level recording device. At the price it offers a whole lot of features and an impressive sound.

If you want to take in the highest resolution offer it to buy a larger memory card. The included 2gb card reaches 96kHz and 24 bit slightly less than an hour.
Also very recommendable is the accessories package APH-2n.
