Yamaha Stagepas 400i

Johann43, 29.01.2013
Doubles praise: once for the music house Thomann eK, the plant was ordered around 20:00 and the next day delivered around 15:00 to the north of Germany.

A second praise from the house Yamaha for the Stagepas 400i. I had previously ordered and tested another portable PA system with which I was less satisfied. This makes me a direct comparison. I use the system for keyboard, electric guitar and singing.
All positives summarized:

- The boxes with the integrated mixing console and monitor cables are easy to transport and fit into any trunk, they can be plugged into the normal box racks without flange and the entire processing is topp
- The sound is super and also full, and every voice on the keyboard is clear and clear (I could not always in the other system), for e-guitars you can use a special channel
- The treble and bass frequencies can be matched perfectly with the tone controls, the monitor output signal levels can be adjusted and the connection for a subwoofer is also possible
- The digital effects such as reverb, plate, room and echo work perfectly, even in my small study, which I use as an exercise room, it sounds like in a hall. The reverb time can be adjusted for each type and the reverb range can be adjusted for 4 channels.
- As a microphone I use the Sure SM58, which harmonizes very well with the system, as well as 2 cable microphones, so far no feedback, but even then there is a feedback suppressor switch
- The iPod / iPhone USB port works great but is useless for not Apple owners
Negatives: The mixer has a fan as a long-running, which quietly rustles and should be executed by Yamaha as a controlled fan. It does not bother me and if the plant plays and that is it so much, one hears nothing anyway.

The purchase was really worth it. The Stagepas 400i I can only recommend.

Complemental: In addition to the Yamaha Stagepas 400i, I now have a Stagepas 300. There are some fine differences to consider.
- Obviously, the raised power is from 2x150W to 2x200W
- There is hardly any difference between the transport weight
- The sound quality in the high notes is better with the Stagepas 400i, while the Stagepas 300 is more bass-heavy from the sound quality. Actually, both are a good complement if one uses the one for singing and the other for instruments.
- Unfortunately, the Stagepas 300 for building up the annoying adapters for the speaker stands
- There is a plus point for the mixer of the Stagepas 300, for a stereo input for the recording
- The more varied digital effects the Stagepas 400i has

Ingenious part with super sound.

Jochen264, 28.12.2013
I was looking for a cube that can handle guitar, piano and voice, and sound good. Then Thomann recommended this compact system. Was initially skeptical, since I had already tested some of these parts already and was not affected by the central, hollow sound. Those days are over! The part sounds great, has enough power for a large church (when it must be) and is easy to act. With the many features grow also the desires: A pity that one can not play directly from the USB stick.
