I am a beginner and this is my first keyboard. Learning lessons are really helpful.

For the price unbeatable!

Karasian, 07.04.2018
Reason for purchase: replace 20-year old keyboard
1. Exercise device for church songs, since styles are the same, in the church stands a DGX-305
2. Play more private pianistic songs

After 3 weeks of testing, I would like to submit a rating for potential sellers. First, a small minus to Thomann, the keyboard was shipped directly in the original box, so the box has a lot of quirks and sanding marks. The error comes from Thomann, Yamaha can not help it.
Packaging content is the usual: keyboard, music stand, paperwork. Put on my table, (a keyboard stand does not fit the room) and connected. I noticed that the power supply is very short, compared to my old PSR-320. The cable has a length of estimated 1.60M.
Often the sound of the speakers is criticized, which I can understand. The trebles are acceptable, but the depths of the lower notes or the styles are much fatter. So I decided to connect a 2.1 speaker system that solved this problem, because the piano sounds of the keyboard itself are outstanding for the price! Of course, apart from the other instruments, these are still standard foods. The styles are okay, but the grouping is not my taste. The dance styles sound very old and not in keeping with today's style, a few good styles that I like are the following:
009 Hard Rock1
010 60s Guitar Pop
014 OffBeat
019 8BeatRock
023 16BeatUpTempo
027 Piano Ballad
028 Love song
099 Beguine
100 reggae
148 SwingWaltz
Of course, there are more good styles, but those are the ones I use.
Another small drawback is the control buttons on the keyboard. These are made of rubber, which is not a problem, but they are very spongy, which is especially noticeable when using the number pad. A clear pressure point would have been very helpful here. The display is clearly legible, but only from a "sitting" angle, from the top you can unfortunately hardly read anything, which can make this keyboard problematic for standing applications. In addition, all information is heavily quenched, so the functions must be greatly reduced. Displaying the current tempo would have been useful without first pressing the tempo button. The keyboard is very light, but had a bit of dirt, which you had to scratch off, but was very little and unobtrusive. The EQ master presets are not useful for me, you can see differences, but they do not help me. I will probably never use other effects like Arpeggio either. The metronome feature is helpful, but it takes practice to set the exact speed you expect. It's often too fast for me.

Pro / Con:
+ Excellent piano sound
+ Good styles
+ easy-to-use keyboard
+ very affordable 76-key keyboard
+ clearly readable display thanks to lighting ...
(-) ... but a bit small
Speakers weak but acceptable
-short power supply cable
- Spongy control panel

For the price of 200EUR you get a pretty well-made keyboard, so you can practice excellently. Of course, had to be saved on some corners, but these are manageable. From me there is a buy recommendation!
