Great Over Drive Pedal

I bought this pedal because i was looking to get a good country guitar tone. I was using the boss blues driver before.

Order arrived within 1 week and I would recommend this pedal to anyone seeking a great country tone.

The pedal comes with instructions for 3 or 4 different example tones you can get with this guitar pedal, and most importantly for me, it shows what level each knob should be at in order to get the 'Brad Paisley' tone.

This pedal can also achieve a heavy distortion if thats what you into. I personally just use this pedal with the gain slightly higher than recommended for the signature 'Paisley' tone. For me this gives the best results for the Modern Country tone I love.

I have tested the Wampler Paisley Drive with a Whitfill Custom Telecaster (vintage telecaster) and a Carr Viceroy Amp (Fender like).

I've been searching for my second gain stage for my vintage-country / low-gain pedalboard and after several online reports and test videos, I've just ordered the Wampler Paisley Drive.


Operation / Features:
The operation of the drive pedal is simple, ON / OFF switch is self-explanatory, volume and gain control probably synonymous. The special on Paisley Drive are the two small toggle switcher and the Tone Poti.

The Presence knob will raise the high frequencies in the upright position, making the sound clearer and more open, but losing from my point of view, then, bass.

The Mid-Contour switch has 3 possibilities to cover a wide range of sounds. In the lowest position, the guitar tone remains the most natural with emphasis in the deep. In the uppermost position, the mids are lowered and the trebles get stronger, a very glassy sound. The middle position is a mix-mach from both positions.
The tone potentiometer controls even more heights (when fully turned).


Processing:
As wampler accustomed great processing, there is nothing to complain about. The Paisley Drive is solidly built, the controls make a stable impression (also the toggles) and the part looks also pretty, not least because of the blue LED.


sound:
It can cover a lot of sounds, from breakup tweaking to pimped amp sound up to part after pickup and amp combination to slightly fuzzy sound. The toggle switcher and the additional Tone-Poti leave nothing to be desired as far as the versatility of the pedal is concerned ... but, unfortunately not my taste.

Brad Paisley is known to have a very high-pitched and very fast / crunchy guitar sound and that was the reason why I ordered the pedal. The heights are there at Paisley Drive, unfortunately from my point of view a bit too much. The sound starts to whip to my ears very quickly (yes guitarist's language but you know what I mean) and does not look quite as dynamic as I hoped for this pedal. It has a slightly Marshall-esken sound character, and either one likes or not. If you turn the treble with Presence control or tone control, the sound loses clarity, which one would still like to have in spite of a few heights.
I have not deducted at the points, because Ton is now times taste. The pedal is incredibly versatile and it can be great sounds, but just not the one I wanted.

Conclusion:
The Paisley Drive is a fantastic Zerr pedal (with a Marshall-tweaked structure) and the many options and controls let you create a variety of sounds.
The processing speaks for itself and also the price is completely justified by the versatility and the high quality of the sounds. You notice that it is not a pedal like any other and definitely has its own character. Sure more a pedal for people who already have experience and already experiment with sounds themselves.
