Great improvement compared to cheap student bows
AGutek 28.04.2021
Pros: good sound
rod is resistant to weather/warping
ease of string crossing
Cons:
difficult to turn the screw
Neutral:
sound is different than with wood

The bow is far more responsive than my previous best bow (Artino Special Edition) or my wooden bow (overly soft and crooked...) that was included in my violin set. It is noticeable that it is far more expensive than the other two - in sound (more vibrant compared to the mentioned Artino) and when playing fast:
it's much easier to change strings with it. The sound it produces is not so deep/velvety as of the wooden one, but it is pleasant (for me at least :)). The sound is not squeaky or very thin.

One thing that could use some improvement is the screw - it is rather hard to turn - I need to wrap my hand in some non-slippery fabric to be able to turn it.

The resistance to temperature/humidity changes is an important factor and I really like this bow, though for slower, more "romantic" music I would still prefer a heavier wooden bow.

K
Not as expected
Kiuomars 18.12.2023
If you look after a nice sounding bow, this bow is not perfect bow. The sound match better for beginner and intermediate violinists. I have a cheap bow and when I bought this one I expected that this Vienna bow should be better in terms of sound and handling and balance, but many times I got disappointed from the harsh sound of bow and get back to use my previous bow which has a better sound than this one.

HW
wie der große Bruder des Höfner AS36V
H. Weller 09.05.2019
