Not bad!
Imaginary, 03.01.2021
I acquired these headphones because the ones I had were already in a pretty bad state.

I mostly play heavy music and this is where I feel it lacks. I would've been happier if it had a bit more bass so this is why I didn't give it five starts.
But mind that this is my opinion, according to my taste. Doesn't mean the sound is bad. It isn't! I believe the headphones are a good purchase.

The cushions are comfortable, the bag is very useful and the band isn't really heavy or tight. Should be able to wear these for a few hours without feeling the need to take a break.

A big plus, for me, is having an adapter for both audio interfaces and PA systems. So we have jack and mini-jack to use as required.

If one is looking for headphones with a lot of bass, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Otherwise, this is a good piece.
I am happy with my purchase.

Great headpnones for certain genres
580i, 28.07.2020
In recent years headphones have become more and more popular, but this also means the market is populated by brands that have better marketing than audio quality. And as with most people being drawn by marketing, great manufacturers like Ultrasone are not well known. You'd think for the kind of signature Ultrasone headsets have they'd be wanted. Ultrasone also does not have any wireless models/with assistant/phone call enabled, which many use paired with smartphones. Maybe they still are, but the forum does not reflect it, at least models in the lower end.

A while back I had some Ultrasonne 550/DJ1 rebranded 550, which I should't have sold. They had very punchy bass, great for some genres. The 580i is an upgrade to the HFI-580.

Construction is fine, similar to the Ultrasonne 550/DJ1 rebranded 550.

Cable is not detachable.

Comes with two types of pads, leather and (silver) velour.

Pad dimensions:
Depth 15mm
Interior 56 x 40mm
Exterior 94 x 84mm

Comfortable, the velour pads are more comfortable.

Great sound isolation and little leakage.

Listened for a few hours. Driven by Xonar DGX and Chord Mojo. They are fine from the sound card, but can definitely use an amp.

From what I can tell, they are similar to the HFI-580's in terms of sound. Fast deep tight bass, somewhat recessed mids, ok hihgs. The 6 Khz (or wherever it is) spike is still there, but only noticeable in some moments. Ok soundstage.

The velour pads dampen the punchiness of the bass, raises the mids, eliminates the spike. Also dampens the higs. Makes certain generes more listanable.

Great for dubstep, trance, drum & bass, and similar generes. I also own HD 380 Pro and B&O H9i with H7 pads.

The Best Over Ear Headphones I've Ever Had
jmgdalton, 12.02.2019
Three months ago I hadn't encountered the Ultrasone brand. I have a selection of headphones including Grado, Kliptsch and a set I use when I DJ. When searching for a replacement for my DJ 'phones I came across Ultrasone and decided to take a punt. Although not on their DJ phones as you can see.
Getting to the point, I can unhesitatingly recommend these headphones for DJs and for those who aren't DJs who like quality headphone sound without laying out a lot of money.
As I write this I am listening to Gene Harris playing through Audirvana/Tidal on a MacBook Pro, AudioQuest Dragonfly, Jitterbug and a Graham Slee Voyager headphone amplifier (switched to Contour). I might as well be sitting beside Gene.
I've used many different headphones when I DJ. The Audiosone Pro-580i are without the best I've ever had. I am almost 60 years old so I've been through a lot of audio equipment, I play all kinds of music from the '50s through to yesterday mainly in clubs and I now use the 580s all the time.
Full disclosure: I have always had very sensitive hearing. Even now, heading into late middle-age, my hearing is still very sharp. Such that, when I'm gigging I use Etymotic earplugs with the 580s and while the sound is flatter, that is all it is, flatter.
In terms of the fit and finish I like the tight over-ear fit of the 'phones. External sounds below a certain level are totally excluded without feeling my head is being squeezed in a vise. The build quality seems solid, only time will tell. I like the way the 'phones fold in so that I can have one on ear and one off.
The only negatives for me is that the cable is fixed into the cup and can't be unplugged but that was my choice. The other is that the cable was folded, not coiled, in the box. The folds still haven't straightened out.
The Ultrasone DJ phones cable unplug if that is what you are looking for.
In short, I recommend these headphones highly.

Uncomfortable for big heads
MusicLover72, 19.01.2021
The headphones have a good balanced sound, but they clamp too strong ( especially for bigger heads) so are uncomfortable to wear for extended period of time. They are also quite heavy. It's a shame. cause I would definitely keep them for their sound quality if they hadn't been so uncomfortable
