It doesn't really clean the strings...
Medvedotron, 11.02.2019
... unless you have flats or tapers. But even with the rounds you want to use it since it cleans fretboard and frets too. Plus in general it's nicer to remove sweat and pieces of fat dead skin from your strings not for lifespan purposes but for visually pleasing purposes.

And for more, if you insist on proper 'cleaning' you can apply whichever cleaning bottle you fancy and it will do a bit more than usual (but from my perspective it's not the job for this tool, this tool is just for rough everyday work and it's amazing for that).

Some perplexities ...
14.11.2016
We start from the biggest defect: the price; For work reasons I have to do with such products (house cleaning and similar gadgets) and I have to say that a public sale price of almost 15 euros for a couple of plastic platens and a few square centimeters Microfibre and sponge are disproportionate to the cost of production (also considering the burden of transport in containers and packaging); To try on well-known e-commerce sites, products are apparently similar to less than 4 euros; Said this, while aware of this, I still purchased it because, knowing my laziness, I was thinking of quickly resolving the problem of rope and keyboard cleaning.
The use is very simple: after opening it, I moisten the panels with a string cleaner and close it on the ropes, then moving it back and forth along its entire length; In fact I have to say that the tool works very well only on a part of the ropes, say the fourth / fifth key down while on the first fatigue much to pass and the first button I can not make it pass even by forcing; I would therefore say that the problem has not solved me completely; I doubt then that the underneath sponge can neatly neat the keyboard with that little rubbing that is produced (but I might mistake applying technique).
In other reviews I understand that some people complain about the difficulty of opening the tool; I did not have any problem on this side: I found it easy to open, with soft release click (too much!).

Conclusions: not entirely effective and at the same time characterized by exaggerated price but I am still comfortable for daily cleaning and allows me to procrastinate more thorough and accurate cleaning. Would I recycle it? For the comfort you, for the price no.
