As the title said this flashlight put me through an entire rollercoaster of emotions.
I received it as a free bonus item during the “GIVEMETHELIGHT” promotion. At first I was super psyched getting a free flashlight. It’s always handy when you need to fix your pedalboard or cables and you can’t see things because it’s dark.
Then I received my order. I was more excited about the Lamplifier than I was about the actual things I had spent money on. Happily I opened the box only to find out the Lamplifier was literally some LED’s clicked on a 9v battery. To be completely honest, that made me sad. Then again, it was free.
Then, however, I turned it on. It produced a little bundle of light I can only describe as sufficient. There was light, but not a lot though. It will allow you to see things in a dark environment but it won’t blind the people around you.
Then I realised the “on/off” switch was a 3-way switch and could also be pushed to the right. Don’t look into the Lamplifier when you do so. Because this is when it turns into a miniature lighthouse. It was nice to see such a small flashlight produce so much light.
The fact that it is so compact and has a bright and dimmed setting caused me to immediately create some space for it in my pedalcase. From now on this thing is going everywhere my guitars and I are going.
The only downside I could find for the Lamplifier is that you sometimes overshoot the on/off switch when going from dimmed to off, or from bright to off as it is a 3-way switch. The flashlight then won’t turn off, it will just change to the other setting. But that takes some getting used to.
