Absolutely awesome

Joachim Brüning, 31.10.2009
I own the T.BONE SC440 USB now for almost exactly 2 months - and still totally excited. This microphone has not just met my expectations, it has even surpassed them.
I would like to give you a detailed report.

My equipment:
I also bought the K & M 232 table stand and the T.BONE MS180 pop killer on [LINK] in addition to the microphone. All my recordings (and consequently also experiences) touched on the interplay of these 3 components. For the sound quality is the at least times with the pop killer of importance.

The first impression:
The microphone is supplied with a sturdy plastic case, a USB cable and the spider including mounting. All parts make a very high-quality impression. It's already unpacking fun!
As soon as the microphone is connected to the spider, the thing looks also really noble. Well, that may be vwt for a microphone. Not so important ... but it still gives the thing extra.

Connection to the PC:
Very simple! USB cable into the PC and then to the micro - finished! It was immediately recognized by my Windows XP (with SP3). Very satisfying!

The most important thing - the quality:
I could now enthusiastically enthusiastically enthusiastic about the recording quality, but that would then probably be too subjective. That's why dry facts.

- Noise behavior -

Correctly adjusted (one should operate a Feintuning in the recording software and many test recordings to make the optimum rauszukitzeln) one hears virtually no more noise. Everything is absolutely clear!

- Kidney characteristics -

The SC440 provides only cardioid as a guideline. But for me it is optimal and is enough! The fan noise of the PC, the street noise - everything is properly ignored and can not be heard during the recording.

- recording of voice -

For voice recording, this mic is really perfect! The voices sound clear and pleasantly warm. Even silent whispers are still clearly reproduced, and loud and powerful cries are distortion-free! If you are close to the microphone you can also create wonderful close-up effects so that the voice during playback also lets the subwoofer work properly. Brilliant!
In combination with the pop killer, S, T and P sounds do not produce any disturbing noises.
If you would like to convince yourself of the quality, you can listen to the 2nd podcast on my website. (At the first I still had my old micro)
This micro has a really great sound.

- recording of instruments -

I bought this micro specifically for recording language and singing but I wanted to try it nevertheless times with instruments. Since I own a Djembe (percussion instrument from Indonesia), I drummed on this and recorded the whole thing.
I had first expected that the micro here would show weaknesses compared to voice recordings but I was deceived. A clear sound with loud and soft sounds! The Djembe's own sound is recorded cleanly and not falsified. It just sounds a bit warmer - but that is quite positive.

- Price -

For the performance that this microphone offers, it is really as a gift at this price. Since it is so favorable, I would not have expected such a great quality. All the more pleasurable I was, of course, when the first recording was in the box.

- Conclusion -

I am, as already mentioned, absolutely enthusiastic!
Thomann has delivered quickly and reliably and the recording with this miracle is really much fun! It has not left me in any situation so far and the great warmth and clarity of the recordings surprise me every time anew.
In conclusion, there is only one thing left to say:
CLEAR PURCHASE RECOMMEND !!!

Use: for game recordings and audiologists.

How did I know?

I had already a long time before a "real" Microphone zuzulegen, because my Headsetmikrofon without end noise and much too quiet (read can not change with any means). I searched the web and came across the Thomann site. The SC 440 USB in the podcast bundle immediately aroused my attention. Then I lost the thing but again out of sight, until I came to the Pietsmiet.de (A group of Let's playern) to the question asked by a fan, which micro the guys use. And lo and behold: The answer is the T.bone SC 440 USB. As Christmas came, and all asked me what I would wish for (I am 16 and blessed with great closeness), I answered. Please use this microphone. And so this came two weeks later (transfer has been delayed) at my home. The only criticism of the packaging: The metal clamps could be a bit more careful reintackern. So they were hardly to get out of the box.

The usage:

Right at the beginning: the microphone is not for people without patience. After the setup and first plug-in and test with Audacity (a recording program) the first disappointment. That will not do. From my long search with my old microphone I had but little experience with the sound settings in Windows and after a good 1/4 hour I noticed the volume is at the very bottom. Regulator to the top and already there is also something. For all the Audacity use a small hint. Sets the recording to mono. The microphone is also designed for mono only. Otherwise, you get a recording that only sounds right on the left ear and on the right only Hallt. That was it then but already with the criticism, because what I then got delivered was a 1a Klangerlebnis the extra class. The heights were correctly distinguished from the depths and also the distance to the micro is largely egeal (only in front of the micro one must sit due to the kidney characteristic).
