Very good but don't bother with the dual mono mode
Mr Merlin, 03.07.2017
These are really great units for the money with rack ears included for single unit mounting. They are very similar to other branded units costing nearly twice as much. The sound quality is very good and so is the battery life, which is just as well because the batteries can be awkward to replace! The included earphones are ok but they're never going to set the world alight! I use triple driver custom IEMs with mine. We have 4 units now and I would recommend them overall.
However, be aware that Thomann will sell you a kit with 2 receiver packs to 1 transmitter for use in dual mono mode where the transmitter unit can send two separate mono monitor mixes to two different musicians. This doesn't really work!! There is far too much interference between the two mixes so you can never completely cut out the other mix. Thomann are aware of this as they told me after I'd queried it. The units will obviously work great for blending two mixes, as well as for a single stereo or mono mix, which is how we use them. Unfortunately we had to return the extra receiver packs and buy a single unit for each member of the band. This now works very well but was more expensive than using 4 receivers with 2 transmitters!

Pros - Good value, Build quality, Built in limiter, Perfectly acceptable sound quality.

Cons - Dual mono mode does not completely separate mixes, No EQ features, Awkward to change batteries.

Great set of IEMs for the Price!
AndyT, 05.08.2013
Having used In Ear Monitoring for a couple of years with my band, I decided to have a look around for some better quality sets (previously we ran a couple of sets of DB 1100 and a wired pack for myself on keys). Now, the DB were great, as was the wired set, but sadly, with the change of frequencies in the UK, we started to notice more interference with the standard channel 70 packs, and the wired set for myself just restricted me in terms of any stage movement / access etc (having to plug in when I reached my keys and what not).

I came across the IEM 200 here and started to look around and investigated various other options, and none of the other options even came close to what these promised to deliver on, so having used other "own branded" goods from Thomann before, I thought I'd give the tBones a try and I love them. From the moment they came out of the box, everything was just straight forward and intuitive for setting up the frequencies, matching the packs, installing batteries, adding on the Rack Ears etc. I loved them, then when I came to use them for the first time, they sounded great. I expected there to be a hugely noticeable difference for myself going from wired to wireless, but there wasn't. The other band members have loved them too, saying they're much clearer. I even used them for a client of mine who normally provides his own IEM packs at an event and said "trust me, use these" and he loved them, said they were so clear and just worked great.

All in all a great product. The only downside is that reading the blurb, you could be led to believe you get a mount to put 2 sided by side, where as you just get a rack mount for one unit and it you want to mount them side by side, you need to buy an additional shelf, but for €9.00 per shelf, what's that between friends for a great set of IEMs.

brilliant IEM
Justfloyd, 12.12.2019
Having used IEMS 20 years ago, decided to upgrade, these are excellent, easy to use, set up is nice and simple, construction is rugged and well made, batteries are easy to access and change, no idea on the supplied phones, as not used them, but the sound quality is good, very little background noise and nice response. No downsides.

A great starter kit!
Dan4680, 10.09.2015
I bought my set not long ago, as I gig frequently across the UK theatre and festival circuit. I was getting tired of waking up with ringing in my ears every morning so I figured why not! I checked out the reviews of this system and others, and where value for money is concerned, this is a great set.
The ear phones that are supplied aren't that bad, although when compared to 215s their weakness' show...but they do the job!

Its a pretty simple system to navigate through as well, changing frequencies on the fly is a quick and easy task, as well as alternating between stereo and mono signals.

The only issue I have is replacing the batteries...It can be a tough job, as the battery compartment on the belt pack has an annoying plastic lock that holds the battery pack lid in place...it also manages to hold one of your AAs in there too...But i've got a good technique with regards to removing it now, so its not too much of an issue.

I highly recommend this set, its perfect for those who are thinking about moving to IEMs but don't wanna bust your wallet. I will be upgrading my set in the future, but these have plenty more gigs in them yet.
