I love it

09.01.2016
I was looking for an amped solution for my pedalboard. On the one hand, because I do not feel like dragging my amp. On the other hand, because I play 95% anyway at home through headphones and I play in the medium term with the idea of ??the InEar-Monitorings. Another decisive factor was the idea that the stage sound should not be played with an amplifier driven into the final stage saturation. The guitar now runs on a high-quality HK-pro: mon 12 active monitor.

My tonal amplifier ideal was always the Vox sounds, both clean and torn (Radiohead lets greet). I am enormously important in this respect for a high velocity dynamics. With Marshall sounds, I can almost not at all, with Fender sounds quite only clean something to begin.

The pedal is an absolute hit. The sound is excellent. The switchable speakersimulation does not allow on / off any further parameter changes, but as it is, it sounds in my ears ideal. How close the amp is to the original, I can not say in the absence of A / B comparison.

I do not actually move the character slider over 10-before. After that, the sound is too compressed and deep.

The EQs are very effective. With this pedal, the center position of the EQ controls actually works very well, and you can make sensitive adjustments, for example, to take a little chilling out of the treble or pick up the ring.

Pleasant side effect of the speakersimulation: even my old boss DS-2, which I did not like sound, sounds good at moderate settings. Like all other trombones, of course, only if they are connected before Liverpool's speaker simulation. With a moderately distorted overdrive in front, the Liverpool pedal can be booted and tickled.

I was so enthusiastic about the pedal that I bought a second pedal on eBay (but in the version without switchable speaker simulation). Via Boss Ls-2 I now have a 2-channel system, before which I optionally switch ODs and distortion. The first version is slightly different. It has interestingly a much higher output level.

I also tested the Blonde version (for clean sounds, see above). She did not convince me at all. The blonde pedal was too bassy for me in almost any setting; Without a fully upright height regulator it was actually not to use. I can not reproduce glittering fendersounds.

In the search for negatives, I had to think a long time. The processing is excellent, the switch also, and the side noise behavior is very good for me.

There is a star trigger in operation: the potentiometers are so light that they can be moved very quickly when transporting, for example, a loose cable.

Another with the features: The price is in itself in order. Ultimately, you pay a lot of money for just one foot-switchable sound. A little annoying is that tech21 lets a very deep in the bag, if one wants to have more. The deluxe version of the Liverpool was probably very quickly out of print. A two-channel version in one device would certainly have been technically feasible ...

The Vox Sound

Antoine161, 23.01.2013
This pedal simulates the Vox AC30.
I must say that the character of this mythical amp. Even if the heat that the lamps bring, the sound is very convincing.
The three strips of equalization are very effective. The more you push the character knob, the more the throat gets to get a nice crunch. The HP simulation does the job very well and is essential when you plug the beast live on a console or a sound card.
The metal case looks very solid and the knobs are made to last. In short, a very good simulation that remanne well in studio or on stage!
