Not quite my case.
Wernie, 22.06.2011
I ordered the device, because I hoped for an improvement of my principle with simultaneous feedback reduction.

2 days I tested it with different microphones (Shure SM58, Shure Beta 58, AKG C414, AKG C5900 and others) both over a system as well as over headphones. I used a switch with "true bypass" to compare the pure microphone sound with the sound over the device.
Result: No matter how the device is set, it always adds some "dirt" to the voice, sometimes more, sometimes less. Occasionally, it happens that some part of the device transitions digitally at short notice and ugly background noises arise. That sounds really broken ...

The "Adaptive" fashion is to be cautious. While I can control the pure microphone sound pretty well, it always sounds slightly different over the device. This is habituation.
The feedback suppression works basically quite effectively, but it happens nevertheless from time to time that it starts whistling in the middle of the performance, especially when compressor and shape are sounded.
I do not need the pitch correction and I just tried it out for a short time: also needed to get used to the resulting hinges.

The bottom line is the hoped for improvement and the pure microphone sound I like better and is more predictable.

Despite the name, I bought the Correct-XT less for the correction of the pitch, but because of the influence of the dynamics.
If I was rather disappointed in the results at the beginning, I was able to get a good sound with some gimmicks and guessing about the importance of the not very detailed manual.

Here are my sound impressions:
In the Dynamics circuit, the manufacturer's suggestions can be followed and the adaptive control can be maintained at the center of the controller. The compression is then sufficient. From the De-esser, however, I have heard little.
Shape added too many sharp heights. The results sounded satisfactorily only when the control was set to 9-10h and without adaptive sound control.
I prefer the warmth pusher to play in small, less noisy environments; It gives the sound more saturation, but in a dirty sounding way. However, with a louder style of playing, he could contribute to the fact that the singers are better off against instruments.
Gate I leave turned on. For feedback, I had no use; Careful micro-positioning provided, I have no problems with it.

The pitch correction first knocked audibly. Only a download of the latest software version provided a remedy. In the starting position, the correction for my taste is too radical and also audible. (Double sounds not only as a live impression while singing, but also on the recording!) Again I had to turn the knob back to about 9-10h (counterclockwise) until I got some subtle results. With me, pitch is usually switched off.

My conclusion:
If the technicians at a major event are good and have the microphones in the handle, this device remains in the case. In a small frame, if one is placed on itself, the sound possibilities of the Helicon, are used sparingly, quite useful.

Lastly, a comparison with the Voicelive Touch: I wanted to replace the Correct XT. After tests in the home studio I left it. The only advantage of the VLT is the possibility to define pitch control as a percentage: values ??between 20 and 25% gave very good results. And also the compression seems a bit better than on the Correct.
But that which would have brought the surplus value remained almost entirely guilty. Neither the delay, reverb nor the harmony effects sounded convincingly. The worst thing was the double, unfortunately, because I had hoped for a lot. The developers were double but apparently less important, because in the presets there are only six similar moderately sounding variants for it. In short, the Voicelife goes back, and the Correct XT stays for smaller live events.
