I've always purchased lower end DMX cabling. I get the odd cable death but for the most part, I've been happy.

This time though, I needed 2x 10m runs with 5-pin connectors that would be used to run some LED PAR uplights. The cable needed to be durable and high quality enough to survive a life on the floor, potentially getting all sorts thrown at it. I decided to spend a little more money this time, partly for curiosity, but I was also purchasing on behalf of my venue and I didn't want to cheap out on a cable that wouldn't last.

So far I've been very happy. Starting with the connectors, they're the best from Neutrik. There isn't a single bad thing I can say about them.

The cable itself is thinner than I was expecting, but at the same time it feels extremely tough. It's magnificently easy to coil and it handles perfectly.

I can't speak for the longevity of the cable at this stage as we've only had them 10 months, but I will return to this review the instant this cable dies (if it dies) to give an update. For this price, I'd like a good 5 to 6 years out of it and at the moment I'm confident I'll get it.

It would be cheaper to buy the same parts and make your own, but it only makes financial sense to do so if you have the time to do the work, the skills required to solder durable connections, AND if you require a large quantity. For us, we only needed these 2x 10m runs so it made sense to buy pre-made this time.

In conclusion, very happy with the cable and even though the price is high, it's truly a quality product.
