Easy repacement for 250w discharge at a perfect price point.
Andrew6853, 13.01.2016
Used a pair for the first time last week in a large hall and was delighted with the result. Sharpness, smoothness and brightness were fantastic. I placed them either side, on top of the speaker stacks, running master-slave, in slow mode and sound-to-light later on. The event was DJing at a wedding but I'm also looking forward to using them for band work.

I bought them as a more portable alternative to my large 250w discharge units and I took a bit of a gamble with the LED power, trying to match what I had but always knew I was going to be a bit short. Once they were out on the road though, you really couldn't tell and I'll get rid of the 250s now. I wouldn't be confident stepping down to the 25w version though- well worth the bit extra I think but for me, stepping up to the 60w didn't really justify the extra cost- particularly when you include the cost of getting a dual flightcase for them as well.

I've read people discussing the 'noise' issue but there isn't one for me; I think you'd have to be picky and insist on a silent fixture to make you happy, if that's your thing.

Negatives for me are the strange display menu titles. Maybe I'll get used to it but you'll have to keep referring to the menu to work out what the display is trying to say and what option you need. Advice is to always get a programmable controller to create your own shows but if you don't want to go down that route then it would've been nice to get a remote option, which I don't think there is.

If you get this you won't be disappointed and it'll probably surpass your expectations- particularly when you take into account the price.

For what you get, WOW!
RossNur, 13.02.2020
I've been using the MH-X50s for a while now and have been very happy with the results. I bought two of these for a small theatre that I run the tech in and they are perfect for the space. The features you have and the quality of the light output surpasses what you would expect of a fixture for this price. Now, yes obviously it is limited, but still great for what you're paying.

The noise level is something to be desired, not great for quiet theatre applications, you need a loud rock band to be able to hide the sound of the fans. However, it doesn't mean I haven't used them for theatre. I would say one of the main draw back is the speed of the motors, they can be quite slow. Again, for a fixture at this price none of the components are going to be the best.
I n all, for the price you're paying its a great product, great light output and can last a good while.

Very Impressed
WaveyDave, 14.12.2013
I have used a lot of high end lighting fixtures (Martin Mac 500's, 600's, 250 Entours) and these stand up to them really well. Not as bright as a Mac 500 but certainly do a great job. I ordered 4 of these and for the price they are fantastic!!! I highly recommend these to anyone looking for a cheap alternative to Martin or Robe etc fixtures. The only critisism I have is that the red isn't really red. It seems slightly orange.

X50+ Moving Head
David123Harry, 30.04.2014
The X50+ moving head has revolutionised my hire and events company. It brings affordability of moving light technology to the masses and while the secret of the price of this light lives on, I continue to make money. This light is comparable to the Martin Mac 250 Krypton in both features, and quality of light output, however when it comes to brightness, the light is closer to the Martin Mac 550. It is unbelievable that with all this, the light continues to weigh almost nothing and when cased in pairs, I can carry 4 lights all at once. For schools, amateur theatre, dance shows, live events, these are a great consideration. Only downsides, there is no iris, and it is a little noisy meaning a couple of them in a quiet theatre scene may not be suitable however in a slightly noisy atmosphere or if you only need 1 or 2, then these again are perfect.
