SIT S1150

String Set

SIT stands for Stay In Tune and this is exactly what the US company founded in 1975 (one of the few with its own production) has set its sights on the flag. The SIT strings are given an above-average tuning stability by a special chemical substance into which the ball ends are dipped. Among the best-known SIT users are Richard Z. Kruspe, Paul Landers (both Rammstein), My Chemical Romance, POD, Mia, Beatsteaks, God Forbid, Jack Bruce, Donots, In Extremo, Madsen, Atrocity and Overkill call.

Great sound and feel
Sinest, 12.09.2020
I bought this set for a hollowbody jazz guitar because of the wound 3rd and also out of curiosity.
They also include a plain third which is really a great idea!
And the packaging is airtight, so I didn't have to worry about corrosion.
The guitar is an Aria Pro II L5 style guitar. It came with a set of Ernie Ball 10's, which I felt was out of place on that instrument.
Installation is straightforward, just make sure the string is not twisted while tuning. After A couple of tugs the strings really stayed in tune better than other big name strings. I didn't have to stretch them too much.
They don't have the slippery feeling of EB's but they're not rough or scratchy in anyway. A very organic feeling I would say.
I thought that an 11-50 set would feel tight, but the tension is relatively light, they are very bendable and I can see that set working nice on a LesPaul as well.
They are very easy to set the intonation with.
Sound: Loud, great dynamics and quite throaty mids. Not zingy but nicely even tone from the lowest notes up to the high frets. The notes pop out and if you dig in, they have a pleasant buzz against the frets(depends on you setup and style of course)
All in all, a very nicely balanced string set that is dynamically sensitive and stays in tune. I will be looking at more products from this company.

Strings to depend on
13.10.2015
Since i bought these strings the first time, they are the only ones i use, i have them on all of my electric guitars. They last a lot longer than most other strings i´ve tried in this price range and they sound fantastic too. Bottom line is these are a great choice for all sorts of guitarists and any sort of music.

I got few packs of this strings like a gift from seller on musikemesse, I was really excited, I like the vintage character sounds of this strings.
Great choice for custom shop guitars with low output pickups.

good and cheap
JJj, 04.03.2014
At first I bought this strings just to give them a try (I did not have high expectations quality-wise, after all they are significantly cheaper than competition like Daddario or Ernie ball).
But I was very nicely surprised. It seems they are more corrosion resistant than Daddarios and they are not prone to breakage (like the Elixirs were). They even make me think they really stay in tune better (at first I believed this "Stay In Tune" thing is just a gimmick).
Sound-wise it is difficult to compare or describe them, but I am very happy with the sound that they produce. I would say they are balanced in the higher frequency spectrum and well-defined in lower and they retain good sound after long use.
To sum things up: To me they sound good, it seems they are durable and they are cheap. Recommended.

Without strings, guitars and basses produce no sound, yet most players know very little about them.
