I use the KSM 313 in the studio as well as live now for 9 months and am completely satisfied. (Electric guitar)
I have also done a ribbon microphone shootout (including AEA R84, Beyer m160, Shure KSM 313 and Royer R121) and for me the Shure 313 wins in several points.
1. Works clean as well as high-gain I play Prog-Rock / Prog-Metal and the Mik works well in every situation.
2. It sounds warm but not wary In contrast to the famous R121 the bead drops and unnecessary frequencies away and must be processed in the mix so less.
3. Thanks to the special volume, it can also be used live with high sound pressure levels, and even when it falls on the floor or with an open air blowing a quiet breeze, it is operational without living in constant fear that the tapes breaks down.
4. It can also be used for singing With a Mik is always important to me that it can be used several purposes. This fulfills the KSM 313 most exemplary. (Including vocals, A-guitar, percussion etc.)
