Gets you where you want to go...

This is a very well written and solid tutor,to get you on the road to improvisation. The tunes looked reasonably simple at first, but there are some tricky fingerings and timing issues in all of the tunes,so you can use the book as a way of improving your technique, even if you are not that interested in jazz. The cd is very good as well, with both demonstration tracks, with flute, and backing tracks, without flute.I've been learning the flute for 2 years or so,and have found this book a useful aid in moving on from purely classical and folk tunes.
It's in both German and English language,so the book is a bit weighty on flimsy music stands. That apart,it's really well worth investigating.
