Montage model

Florian S, 06.11.2016
I bought the Schecter BlackJack SLS C-1 P in black about 2 months ago and was happy at first. The pickups sounded great after the first sensation, the neck played quite quickly, the locking mechanics have told me and the look reminded me very much of the LTD Andy James signature model, which was one of the main reasons that convinced me to buy. After two months I unfortunately have to say that I am very disappointed for this price class, just where Schecter has such a good reputation. Maybe I've got a bad model, but I've noticed a few things about processing.
The most serious of these are the frets. Apart from the fact that the extra jumbo frets do not appeal to me, as these slides are rather difficult, the first two frets on the side of the A- and E-string are messed up. They are too deep and therefore create an unpleasant snarl on the E string (to avoid this, you have to adjust the neck curvature and string position very high, which is unplayable for a metal string). Unfortunately, this snarling is also heard over the amp. From the 3 union it suddenly disappears. The other strings are not affected, which is why it can not be the neck curvature or the strings. The second point is the bridge. Although it is a TonePros Tune-O-Matic Bridge, the notches on the riders were not worked at all. These are only very flat from the factory, and are intended to be reworked, which has not happened here. Since I did not have the necessary craftsmanship, I was allowed to bring them to the guitar builder. I would have liked to have returned the guitar and decided to buy a different model from Ibanez, but since these criticisms were noticeable only after the expiration of the return law, and the guitar already has small usage traces, this is unfortunately not possible, so I try it now On the Internet. Other things that are, of course, very subjective, but I personally do not like them: the voice mechanics, which are from Schecter, are not at all voiced. This is either due to the neck, which is very unusual (already tuning the E standard to Drop D, all the strings are disrupted because the neck bends very easily, sometimes even in the normal play by the pressure of the right arm on the body) Or on the mechanics themselves. Since I live often change the tuning, I have to constantly adjust the whole guitar. Next, as already mentioned, the frets. This is, of course, a taste, but I prefer then rather medium-frets. The neck is very thin. For me, who is playing a Gibson Les Paul and a Chapman ML-1 is not suitable, because I am a fan of thick necks (This is my first guitar with a flat neck). Furthermore, the guitar is slightly copflast. Not as extreme as a SG or Firebird, but it is enough for the guitar to play continuously while standing without a leather belt, eg with a nylon belt. The body is therefore very light, which is also noticeable in the sound. This reminds me of Dimebag Darrel's rasiermessscharfen metal sound, but it lacks mass, quasi at the force in the lower frequency ranges. Even my Chapman ML-1, which has a similar construction, sounds around worlds better and that is half the price of the Schecter already a clear weakness ...
As the last one I was only disturbed by the volume poti for the bridge, which is very far forward and close to the strings. I often come with my hand against the Poti and adjust it so accidentally. In all these criticisms, which are partly subjective, partial lack, I personally would not recommend the guitar. I would prefer to use my LPJ or my ML-1 at a time, because these simple, comfortable feel and sound better, so I hope to get rid of the guitar again soon and spend the money on a guitar that is not just a dust collector At the price of around 950¤ for me as a student is much too bad about the money.
